Unauthorized treatment
Medical costs incurred abroad without prior agreement from P&V Assistance may not be reimbursed. All assistance and related costs must be organised by or agreed in advance with P&V Assistance in order to be covered.
Purchase while abroad
The P&V Bijstand Verplaatsing is an annual contract concluded in Belgium before travel. Purchasing the policy while already abroad is not envisaged; the contract must be in force before departure.
Chronic conditions
Chronic diseases or conditions that were known or manifest before departure are not covered. Only sudden illness or accidents occurring during travel and not foreseeable at the time of departure are covered.
Pregnancy
The available P&V sources do not specify explicit pregnancy conditions. General travel assistance policies in Belgium typically exclude routine pregnancy care abroad; emergency complications may be treated as acute medical events under the general coverage.

Conditions that were known or manifest before departure, and their foreseeable complications, are excluded from coverage. Only sudden and unforeseeable illness or accident events are covered.
coverage_duration_limit
The personal assistance coverage applies for trips of less than 3 months (90 days) per journey. The annual contract covers unlimited trips during the year, each up to the maximum trip duration specified in the policy.
