Direct payment

Cashless repair settlement available through WARTA's network of recommended workshops (ASO and independent). In Komfort tier, repairs exclusively in ASO using original manufacturer parts. In Standard tier, choice of ASO or independent network. Payment made directly to the workshop based on VAT invoices agreed with WARTA in advance. Alternatively, indemnity can be settled by cost estimate without invoices.

Geographic scope

Poland and wider Europe

Poland and all European countries (Russia and Turkey in their European parts), Morocco, Tunisia and Israel. Losses arising in Georgia are excluded.

Unique selling points

  • All-risks coverage formula — both Standard and Komfort tiers cover every peril not explicitly excluded, providing broader protection than named-peril policies.
  • Autocasco Komfort guarantees a fixed sum insured (GSU) throughout the policy, with optional 3-year lock at invoice value for brand-new cars — compensation never reduced by depreciation.
  • Komfort tier includes free repairs using original manufacturer parts in Authorised Service Stations (ASO), with zero deductibles and zero own-contributions regardless of driver profile.
  • Wide territorial coverage across Europe including Russia and Turkey (European parts), Morocco, Tunisia and Israel — broader than most Polish market competitors.
  • Warta ranks first for motor claims quality in Poland according to the Financial Ombudsman's 2025 report, reflecting industry-recognised claims handling standards.

Coverage limits

Own damage

100% of insured sum

Only in Standard, Komfort

Covers repair costs for damage to the insured vehicle caused by any event not explicitly excluded (all-risks formula). In Standard tier, indemnity may be subject to a depreciation table applied to replaced parts (0–60% reduction depending on vehicle age), unless the depreciation waiver option is purchased. In Komfort tier, no depreciation deductions are applied and original manufacturer parts are used. Partial loss: indemnity based on VAT invoices from the repair workshop. Total loss threshold: >70% of sum insured (Komfort) or >70% of vehicle value immediately before loss (Standard). Maximum indemnity equals the sum insured.

Source

Total loss

100% of insured sum

Only in Standard, Komfort

A loss is classified as total when repair costs exceed 70% of the sum insured (Komfort) or 70% of the vehicle value immediately before the loss (Standard). Indemnity equals the difference between the sum insured (Komfort) or vehicle value before loss (Standard) and the salvage value. In Komfort, the guaranteed sum of insurance (GSU) remains constant throughout the policy and does not decrease after claim payments (except total loss where coverage ends). In Standard, the sum insured decreases after each claim unless the non-reduction option is purchased.

Source

Partial loss

100% of insured sum

Only in Standard, Komfort

Covers repair costs for damage below the total-loss threshold. In Standard, indemnity is determined based on VAT invoices or, absent invoices, by WARTA's cost estimate using a labour rate of PLN 91/h and parts prices adjusted by a 0.6 coefficient. Depreciation deductions apply per vehicle age unless waived. In Komfort, indemnity is based on VAT invoices using ASO labour rates and original parts without depreciation deductions.

Theft and robbery

100% of insured sum

Only in Standard, Komfort

Covers theft (including break-in and robbery as defined in the Polish Penal Code art. 278, 279, 280) of the vehicle in whole or in part. Does not cover misappropriation (art. 284 KK). In Standard, mopeds (motorowery) are excluded from theft coverage. Motorcycles are covered for theft under both tiers. Indemnity in Komfort equals the sum insured; in Standard equals the vehicle value at the time of loss. Exclusions: keys left unattended in the vehicle; vehicle not secured by its factory anti-theft system (except robbery).

Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

The policy applies a concept of 'person with increased insurance risk' (osoba o zwiększonym ryzyku ubezpieczeniowym) – any driver other than the vehicle Owner or User who meets WARTA's criteria regarding age and/or period of holding a driving licence as specified in the insurance application. In Autocasco Standard, a 10% own-contribution (deductible) applies to claims where such a person was driving at the time of the event, unless this deductible has been waived by additional premium under §8 ACS. In Autocasco Komfort, no deductible applies regardless of driver age or experience.

Repair network requirements

Repairs must be carried out in Poland unless WARTA or its foreign representative consents to repairs abroad, or the cost does not exceed EUR 1,500 (in which case essential repairs for safe continuation of travel may proceed without prior consent). In Autocasco Standard, the insured may choose between WARTA's recommended Authorised Service Stations (ASO) or independent recommended workshops. In Autocasco Komfort, repairs are covered at ASO rates using original manufacturer parts without depreciation deductions. If repairs are performed outside the recommended network, specific conditions apply regarding cost estimate approval, use of new original parts, and post-repair inspection.

Territorial scope

Coverage applies in Poland and all other European countries (Russia and Turkey in their European parts only), as well as Morocco, Tunisia and Israel. Claims arising in Georgia are explicitly excluded from coverage. Repairs abroad exceeding EUR 1,500 require prior consent from WARTA or its foreign representative.

Anti-theft requirements

For theft losses to be covered, the vehicle must be secured by its factory anti-theft protection at the time of theft (this requirement does not apply to robbery). Claims are excluded if: (1) the vehicle was not secured in accordance with its construction (excluding robbery); (2) keys, cards or other opening/starting devices were left unattended in the vehicle or in a place accessible to unauthorised persons; (3) the perpetrator obtained keys or opening devices with the knowledge of the insured or authorised users. All anti-theft devices declared in the insurance application must be handed over to WARTA when filing a theft claim.

Claim notification deadline

For non-theft damage: the insured must notify WARTA no later than 7 days from the occurrence of the damage by contacting WARTA's Customer Service Centre (COK). For theft: police must be notified no later than 12 hours from becoming aware of the theft, and WARTA must be notified no later than the next business day from becoming aware of the theft. In case of damage abroad, no repairs (except essential safety repairs up to EUR 1,500) may be carried out without WARTA's prior consent.

Deductible rules

Autocasco Standard: a 10% own-contribution (deductible) applies to claims arising when the driver at the time of the event is a 'person with increased insurance risk' (as defined in the policy). This deductible can be waived for an additional premium under §8 ACS. Additionally, depreciation deductions are applied to replacement parts based on vehicle age (0% for vehicles up to 1 year old, up to 60% for vehicles over 10 years), unless the depreciation waiver option is purchased. For certain vehicle types/brands, WARTA may also introduce a theft deductible (specified in the policy document). Autocasco Komfort: no deductibles, no depreciation deductions, and no own-contributions apply under any circumstances.
