Included in all policy variants at no extra charge.
Key conditions
Assistance call deadline
The insured or their representative must contact the Operational Centre by telephone, fax or email before taking any independent action regarding medical assistance, transport or other services. If prior contact was impossible for reasons beyond the insured's control, the Operational Centre must be notified within 10 days of the event. Failure to notify may result in a reduction of the benefit.
Unauthorized treatment
If the insured incurs costs without prior Operational Centre approval, the insurer may reduce the benefit proportionally to the extent that this hindered determination of circumstances or consequences of the event, provided the breach was due to wilful fault or gross negligence. The insurer does not bear liability for the course and effects of treatment or diagnoses made by the treating physician.
Purchase while abroad
If the insured is already abroad at the time of contract conclusion, a 1-day waiting period (karencja) applies, starting from the day following the date of contract conclusion. No waiting period applies if insurance continuity from a previous policy is maintained.
Chronic conditions
Exacerbations and complications of chronic diseases are covered up to 15% of the medical expenses insured sum by default. A chronic disease is defined as one diagnosed, treated, or showing symptoms in the 24 months preceding the contract date. Coverage above 15% requires an optional paid clause. Routine continuation of treatment for pre-existing chronic conditions is excluded.
Pregnancy
Treatment related to pregnancy but not connected with childbirth is covered within the medical expenses insured sum. Termination of pregnancy, artificial insemination, infertility or fertility treatment, contraception and pregnancy tests are explicitly excluded from coverage.
Pre-existing condition exclusions
Costs related to the continuation of treatment for illnesses or consequences of accidents that occurred before the contract was concluded are excluded. Pre-existing conditions diagnosed with known surgical indications before departure are excluded if the insured was aware of them and they contributed to the insured event.
Coverage duration limit
The policy is concluded for a fixed term specified in the policy document, not exceeding 365 days. Coverage applies from the moment the trip starts (crossing the Polish border) until the trip ends (return crossing of the Polish border), but not outside the policy period. An automatic extension of up to 48 hours applies if the return is delayed due to breakdown or cancellation of the means of transport.
