Driver age experience limit | No general minimum driver age is specified in the standard casco T&C. However, a separate add-on "Zavarovanje za mladega voznika" exists for drivers with less than 3 years of driving experience, which extends the standard general casco coverage for this increased risk. If the policy has not been extended for young drivers and a driver with fewer than 3 years of experience uses the vehicle, coverage may be reduced proportionally. | Drivers with less than 3 years of driving experience (counted from date of first obtaining the relevant driving licence category) or drivers driving with a supervisor in accordance with legislation are classified as increased risk and require an additional premium surcharge under PG-aka/25-9 Article 7. Failure to pay this additional premium entitles the insurer to reduce the payout proportionally. | No explicit minimum driver age is stated in the casco general or special conditions. However, coverage exclusion applies if the driver did not hold a valid driving licence for the relevant vehicle category. A separate 'MladiVoznik' product is available for drivers with fewer than 3 years of driving experience (or driving with an accompanying driver), which extends casco coverage without a premium surcharge for the young driver. |
Repair network requirements | The insured and policyholder are obliged to have the damaged vehicle repaired at the workshop directed by the insurer (Article 28). If they choose a different workshop, the insurer covers repair costs only up to the amount that would have been charged at the insurer-directed workshop. For extended replacement vehicle coverage, repair must be carried out at a contracted workshop. | The policyholder must follow the insurer's choice of workshop for vehicle repairs (Article 25(3) PG-aka/25-9). Use of Triglav contracted or authorised brand workshops may result in reduced deductible or other benefits (e.g. direct billing). Repairs at non-contracted workshops are covered but cost exceeding what a comparable contracted workshop would charge is not reimbursed (Article 8(4) PG-aka/25-9). | Repairs must be carried out in the Republic of Slovenia only. Repairs abroad require prior written consent from the insurer. Four repair methods are available (V1–V4): original parts with workshop chosen by policyholder (V1), original parts with workshop chosen by insurer (V2), equivalent-quality parts with workshop chosen by policyholder (V3), equivalent-quality parts with workshop chosen by insurer (V4). If the agreed repair method is not followed, the insurer's payout is reduced by the percentage difference between the premium paid and the premium that should have been paid. Sava's authorized repair network provides fast damage assessment (Quick-Check). |
Territorial scope | Coverage is valid throughout Europe in the geographical sense, unless otherwise specified in the policy (Article 20 of T&C 01-AKA-01/20). The IPID also confirms validity in the Republic of Slovenia and all Green Card system member countries, as listed on the international motor insurance card (Green Card), plus other countries listed in individual policy conditions. | Insurance is valid throughout geographical Europe unless otherwise agreed in the policy. Cover may be extended beyond geographical Europe for an additional premium (Article 3 and Article 6 PG-aka/25-9). | Unless otherwise agreed in the insurance contract, the insurance is valid while the insured vehicle is within the geographical area of Europe. Extension of coverage to areas outside Europe is possible upon payment of an additional premium. The IPID states that cover applies in the Republic of Slovenia and countries that are signatories to the Agreement between National Insurance Bureaux of EEA member states and other associated members (Green Card countries) as well as other countries as stated in the individual conditions. |
Anti theft requirements | For theft coverage under the partial casco KRAJA combination, stolen items (vehicle parts, tools, accessories) must have been fixed to the vehicle or locked inside it at the time of theft. Under the additional equipment, luggage and other items combination, items must be stored in a locked vehicle or secured with an anti-theft system. No specific anti-theft device installation requirement is stated for vehicle theft coverage itself. | For partial combination K (theft), the insurer does not cover theft if the policyholder left the vehicle unlocked with the engine running in a public place (gross negligence). A discount of up to 20% is available when the vehicle has a certified installed alarm system (combination K). Theft by a person to whom the policyholder entrusted the vehicle (embezzlement/zatajitev), relatives in direct line, household members, or employees is excluded. | For theft coverage (combination T), it is considered that burglary/theft has not occurred if the policyholder cannot provide all original and spare vehicle keys. Gross negligence by the policyholder or co-insured person excludes coverage. Vehicles equipped with approved anti-theft devices (e.g. Mul-T-Lock, Defend-Lock, SQ Track, Track8, SLEDENJE, GPS SOS) qualify for a 20% premium discount; vehicles with devices (Haicom HI-601 VT, G 19-B, Autrace, Easytracker, Teltronika, Ruptela) qualify for a 10% discount on combination T. |
Claim notification deadline | The insured must notify the insurer of a loss event no later than 3 working days after becoming aware of it (Article 17 of T&C). For assistance cases, notification must be immediate by phone. In all cases prescribed by law (traffic accidents, fire, explosion, vehicle strike, burglary, vandalism, robbery) the police must also be notified immediately. Within 10 days of filing the claim, the insured must allow electronic data readout from the vehicle. | After occurrence of an insured event, the policyholder must take all possible steps to reduce damage and prevent further loss, follow insurer's instructions, and preserve evidence. The insurer must begin damage assessment within 3 days of receiving the claim notification (Article 26 PG-aka/25-9). Theft of the entire vehicle must also be reported to the police in the Republic of Slovenia, including if the theft occurred outside Slovenia (Article 25(1)(2) PG-aka/25-9). | The policyholder must notify the insurer of the loss event as soon as possible but no later than 3 days after learning of it. In cases determined by applicable regulations – particularly fire, explosion, vandalism, theft and traffic accidents – the nearest police station must also be notified immediately. The insurer must commence damage assessment within 3 working days of receiving the claim. For theft, the insurer pays the claim no earlier than 14 days after receiving the policyholder's request, provided the event has been reported to the competent authority. |
Deductible rules | A deductible (franšiza) may be agreed in the policy, expressed as a percentage of the premium calculation basis or as an absolute amount (Article 8). Under general casco, the deductible applies to all claims arising from: (1) traffic accidents, and (2) falling or striking objects. Under partial casco combinations, a deductible applies to: glass (STEKLO), lights and mirrors (SVETLOBNA TELESA IN OGLEDALA), animals (ŽIVALI), parking (PARKIRIŠČE), traffic (PROMET), and vehicle damage (POŠKODBA VOZILA). The deductible is waived when the damage is caused exclusively by a third party and is recovered via MTPL subrogation. | If a deductible (odbitna franšiza) is agreed in the policy, the insurer's payout is reduced by that agreed amount. The deductible does NOT apply to: (a) general CASCO perils of violent/wanton acts of third parties and special events (Article 4(1) items 2 and 3); (b) partial combinations B, D, E, H, J and K; (c) damage to insured luggage/equipment items under Article 2(5). Partial combination claims do not result in loss of accumulated no-claims bonus. Deductibles are expressed in absolute EUR amounts. | The deductible (odbitna franšiza) can be set as a percentage of the insured value of the vehicle on the day of loss assessment, as a percentage of the calculated indemnity, or as a fixed amount. The casco policy can be concluded with or without a deductible – the policyholder selects this at inception. For Kasko totalka, no deductible applies for most perils, but theft of the entire vehicle carries a fixed deductible of EUR 500. For combinations D, H, T the deductible applies as agreed. The deductible is waived (and the claim treated as if not filed) if the insurer recovers the full paid indemnity plus costs and interest via subrogation. The Subrogacija+ add-on extends this waiver to cases where the insurer recovers more than 50% of the indemnity. A bonus-buyback add-on (odkup prve škode) is available for premium grades 1–14 to protect the policyholder's bonus on first claim. |

Direct payment policy | The insurer organizes and directs repair of the damaged vehicle to a contracted workshop. If the policyholder chooses a different workshop, the insurer covers costs only up to the amount that would have been charged at the contracted workshop. Fast online claims submission is available without visiting a branch. | Triglav pays for repairs directly to contracted service workshops when the policyholder chooses a contracted Triglav workshop; for non-contracted workshops the insured receives reimbursement after submitting invoices. | Zavarovalnica Sava pays the authorized repair service directly for approved claims; the insurer manages the entire assessment and payment process with the authorized repair network. The policyholder may choose their own repair shop (V1/V3) or allow the insurer to select (V2/V4), with payment processed directly by Sava. |
