Driver Accident Coverage (Seguro del Conductor)

Optional

Optional modality under the 'Ocupantes' coverage (Art. 36). Covers only the driver of the insured vehicle for death and permanent disability resulting from a traffic accident (while travelling, boarding or alighting, or performing roadside repairs), plus healthcare assistance. The indemnification amount is set in the Particular Conditions. Permanent disability is assessed according to the policy's table of percentages; subjective sequelae and aesthetic damage are excluded.

Passenger Accident Coverage (Seguro de los Ocupantes)

Optional

Optional modality covering all occupants of the insured vehicle (including the driver) for death and permanent disability resulting from a traffic accident, plus healthcare assistance (Art. 36). Indemnification amounts are set in the Particular Conditions. Key conditions

territorial_scope

Civil liability and vehicle modalities are covered throughout all countries within the Green Card (Carta Verde) territory. Legal defence (modality II.4) covers Spain and incidents in Green Card countries, provided the involved parties are habitually stationed in EEA countries. The insurer is subject to Spanish jurisdiction, with the insured's domicile being the competent court.

green_card_rules

The Green Card (Certificado Internacional de Seguro) is required for travel outside EU member states. It is not needed for EU countries, Iceland, and Norway. For countries with bilateral agreements such as Croatia, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Great Britain, and Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Green Card is also not required. The card evidences that mandatory civil liability cover (modality II.1.1) is in force.

driver_restrictions

The policy is calculated based on the characteristics of the driver(s) designated in the Particular Conditions. Undeclared drivers under 26 years of age are excluded from voluntary coverages (general exclusion Art. 48ñ). Drivers over 26 years of age may drive without being expressly declared. The vehicle must be driven by a legally qualified person authorised by the policyholder, owner or possessor. The mandatory civil liability cover cannot be denied to third parties even if the driver lacked a valid licence.

claim_notification_deadline

The policyholder must notify Línea Directa of the claim and all related information as soon as possible and in any case within 7 days of becoming aware of it (Art. 14). Failure to comply may entitle Línea Directa to claim damages for the resulting prejudice, unless it can be shown that it had knowledge of the claim by other means. The insured must also preserve remains and evidence of the claim until the damage assessment is complete.

bonus_malus_rules

The premium is calculated and updated annually based on risk factors including the claims history recorded in previous insurance periods, changes in individual risk factors declared in the underwriting questionnaire, the combination of those factors using statistical models, and upward movements in the consumer price index (Art. I.2, definition of 'Prima' in the 2026 T&C). No separate explicit bonus-malus table is published in the T&C; pricing is risk-based and history-dependent.
