SourceKey conditions
driver_age_experience_limit
No explicit minimum age for the main driver is stated in the General Terms. However, a 'young driver surcharge' (franchise jeune conducteur) applies as an additional deductible on top of any other deductible stated in the General or Special Conditions. The policy requires a valid driving licence (certificat) as defined by current regulations; coverage is generally maintained even if the learner driver is driving under the supervised driving framework (AAC) with a properly issued certificate.
repair_network_requirements
The insured is free to choose their repairer (as per article L211-1 of the Code des assurances). However, if the vehicle is taken to a Generali partner garage, no advance payment is required (only the contractual deductible is charged), a 2-year repair warranty is provided, interior/exterior cleaning and level checks are performed, and a loan vehicle is made available subject to availability. The network comprises approximately 2,000 partner garages in France. For damage claims, an independent expert must assess the vehicle before repairs begin; expertise is organized within 10 days at a partner garage. A remote photo-expertise (without appointment) is also available for minor bodywork claims.
territorial_scope
Guarantees apply in metropolitan France and in all countries listed on the green card (carte verte) whose indicative letter has not been crossed out, for the duration of its validity, and also in Gibraltar, Channel Islands, Faroe Islands, Isle of Man, Liechtenstein, Monaco, San Marino, and the Vatican. Civil liability also applies on journeys connecting two of the above countries. Legal protection (circulation and automobile) applies to disputes under the jurisdiction of French courts, EU member states, and: Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Holy See, Switzerland. Terrorist acts and riots are covered only for damage occurring in France. Vehicle assistance applies in all green card countries; personal assistance applies worldwide.
anti_theft_requirements
Indemnification for theft is subject to the insured being able to justify the existence and use of the anti-theft system declared in the Special Conditions. If the vehicle was in a declared enclosed individual garage with the ignition keys inside, indemnification is reduced by 20%. If the vehicle was in the declared enclosed garage but unlocked, with the insured in possession of all keys, indemnification is also reduced by 20%. If the vehicle was stolen while its doors, windows, boot and sunroof were not fully closed and locked but the insured retained all keys, indemnification is reduced by 50%. Theft while the vehicle was outside an enclosed individual garage with keys left inside is excluded (unless by aggression or break-in of the key storage location). The insurer may also require proof of a tracking system if one was declared.
claim_notification_deadline
Theft: within 2 working days of becoming aware of the event. Natural disaster: within 10 days following publication of the inter-ministerial decree in the Journal Officiel. All other covered events: within 5 working days of becoming aware of the event. For mechanical breakdown, electrical faults, or assistance claims, specific deadlines and procedures are detailed in the relevant chapters of the General Terms. Failure to notify within these deadlines, if it causes prejudice to the insurer, results in loss of all right to cover (except in cases of force majeure).
deductible_rules
The deductible (franchise) is the portion of the indemnifiable loss remaining at the insured’s charge after indemnification by the insurer. Its amount at subscription is indicated in the Special Conditions and may evolve per the contract modification provisions. A specific 'young driver deductible' (franchise jeune conducteur) applies in addition to any other deductible. For theft of exterior elements or accessories, the deductible is 20% of the claim amount up to the vehicle theft deductible. For mechanical breakdown guarantees, deductible modalities are specified in the Special Conditions; if subscribed within 18 months of first registration, the deductible is waived on the first claim; if a claim occurs within 3 months of subscribing the guarantee, the deductible is doubled. The Atout Prévention loyalty programme grants a 50% deductible reduction after 3 claim-free years, and 75% after 5 claim-free years without contract interruption.
