SourceKey conditions
territorial_scope
MTPL cover applies throughout the geographical limits of Europe and to extra-European territories belonging to the European Union. The minimum coverage in each country corresponds to that country's statutory minimum; the policyholder always retains at least the contractually agreed cover.
green_card_rules
If Debeka issues an International Motor Insurance Certificate (Green Card), MTPL cover additionally extends to the non-European countries listed thereon that are not crossed out. The scope of cover in those countries corresponds to A.1.4.1 sentences 2 and 3 (host-country minimum / contractually agreed minimum).
driver_restrictions
Only authorised drivers may use the vehicle; authorised means driving with the knowledge and will of the person entitled to dispose of the vehicle. The driver must hold the required driving licence for use on public roads. The policyholder must not knowingly permit use by an unauthorised driver or a driver without the required licence.
claim_notification_deadline
Every loss event that may give rise to a claim must be reported to Debeka within one week (E.1.1). Third-party claims asserted out of court must also be notified within one week (E.2.1). Judicially or officially asserted claims must be notified immediately (E.2.3).
bonus_malus_rules
SF-classes apply in the MTPL and comprehensive (Vollkasko) insurance. Contracts are reclassified annually on 1 January based on the claims history of the preceding calendar year. A claims-free year results in promotion to the next better SF-class; each chargeable claim causes demotion according to the tables in Annex 1. Rabattschutz (discount protection) keeps the SF-class unchanged for one chargeable claim per calendar year; requires a minimum SF-class 4 and can only be cancelled at the end of the insurance year.
