Direct payment

Claims are settled either in the service variant (serwisowy), where payment is made based on original invoices/receipts for repairs at authorized or non-authorized workshops, or in the cost-estimate variant (kosztorysowy), where the insurer prepares a valuation without requiring repair invoices. In the service variant, payment follows presentation of original invoices. In the cost-estimate variant, the insurer applies Audatex norms, a labour rate of PLN 86.10 gross/hr, and a 20% deductible. Cashless repairs are available at partner workshops. Parking costs after a loss are reimbursed up to PLN 25/day (max 7 days), and towing to the repair shop or insured's home up to PLN 500, if not covered under Auto Assistance (§32.5 OWU).

Geographic scope

Poland

Coverage applies across the territory of Europe. In Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Albania, and Moldova, coverage excludes third-party acts and theft/loss of vehicle or parts (§27.3 OWU). Coverage begins no earlier than the day after the vehicle is presented for inspection, except on renewal without a prior claim or for brand-new vehicles.

Unique selling points

  • All-risk formula: the sum insured is not reduced after the first partial-loss claim, providing full coverage capacity throughout the entire policy year.
  • Baggage and child seats are covered as standard within the base ACK policy at no extra cost, with a sum insured of PLN 3,000.
  • New-vehicle invoice-value protection: for factory-new cars insured within one month of purchase, indemnity in total-loss scenarios within the first 12 months equals the invoice value (not the depreciated market value).
  • Auto Assistance Basic is automatically attached to every ACK policy at no extra charge, covering roadside repair and towing up to 50 km after a road collision throughout Poland, with 24/7 assistance centre access.
  • Optional fixed sum insured extension (stała suma ubezpieczenia) locks total-loss indemnity at the market value declared at policy inception for vehicles up to 6 years old, eliminating depreciation risk for the entire policy period.

Coverage limits

Own damage (all-risk)

Covered

Concordia Auto Casco covers damage, destruction or loss of the vehicle or its parts resulting from any event independent of the will of the policyholder, insured or driver (all-risk formula). This includes collision damage, fire, explosion, forces of nature, acts of third parties, and sudden external temperature or chemical impact. The maximum indemnity equals the sum insured (market value of vehicle at policy inception). Partial-loss threshold: individual repair cost; total-loss threshold: repair cost exceeds 70% of market value at date of loss. The sum insured is not reduced after the first paid claim (§30.8 OWU).

Source

Total loss

Covered

Total loss is defined as theft of the vehicle, complete loss, or damage where estimated repair costs exceed 70% of the market value of the vehicle at the date of loss (§33.1 OWU). In a total-loss event, the insurer pays the market value of the vehicle at the date of loss, established using the same valuation system (Info-Ekspert) as at policy inception. For brand-new vehicles insured at invoice value, if the loss occurs within 12 months of contracting, the vehicle has fewer than 10,000 km, and no prior damage existed, indemnity equals the sum insured (invoice value). An optional fixed sum insured extension ('stała suma ubezpieczenia') may be agreed for vehicles up to 6 years old at inception, fixing indemnity at market value on the policy date throughout the policy period (§27.6 OWU).

Source

Partial loss (vehicle damage not qualifying as total loss)

Covered

Partial loss is any vehicle damage not qualifying as a total loss (§34.1 OWU). Settlement value is established according to either the service variant (based on original repair invoices, using manufacturer labour time norms and regional workshop rates, with original parts at list price and no depreciation deduction applied under §35) or the cost-estimate variant (Audatex norms, labour rate PLN 86.10 gross/hr, lower of original or alternative part prices, with depreciation applied per §37 table, and a mandatory 20% deductible per §36.3). Under the service variant, actual repair costs are verified; under the cost-estimate variant, no invoices are required but a 20% deductible applies. An underinsurance rule applies: if the sum insured is more than 5% below market value at inception, indemnity is reduced proportionally (§28.5), except for theft total losses with no salvage.

Theft and robbery

Covered

Theft (including break-in theft per Art. 279 Polish Penal Code) and robbery (Art. 280 Polish Penal Code) of the vehicle or its parts are covered under the all-risk scope (§27.1 OWU). Coverage for theft requires the vehicle to have at least one certified anti-theft device for vehicles with sum insured up to PLN 75,000, and at least two devices for vehicles with sum insured exceeding PLN 75,000 (§27.4 OWU). Accepted devices include factory-fitted or professionally installed: car alarm, gear-lock, immobiliser, anti-hijacking/anti-carjacking devices (§27.5 OWU). Theft is excluded in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Albania, and Moldova (§27.3 OWU). The insurer may require transfer of title to the stolen vehicle before paying indemnity (§33.7 OWU).

Source

Glass damage (windscreen and other glass)

Optional

Glass damage is covered under two mechanisms. Within the base all-risk ACK policy, windscreen breakage or cracking is covered (the exclusion for breakdown/immobilisation in §29.3.7 explicitly excludes windscreen breakage from the exclusion, keeping it within ACK scope). Additionally, an optional 'Klauzula ochrony szyb' (Glass Protection Clause, §80 OWU) is available as a paid add-on to the OCK (third-party liability) policy, covering repair or replacement of windscreen, rear window, and side glass of a passenger car, with a sum insured of PLN 5,000 (reduced by prior payouts). The glass clause can only be taken out if no glass is damaged at inception. Glass-only claims do not affect the Bonus-Malus class (§34.4, §80.5 OWU). Coverage_type is 'optional' reflecting the standalone glass clause; basic windscreen breakage is included in the all-risk ACK base cover without a separate sum limit.

Source

Natural perils (forces of nature)

Covered

Damage caused by forces of nature ('działanie sił przyrody') is explicitly included in the definition of 'wypadek' (insured event) under §2.47(c) OWU and therefore covered within the all-risk ACK scope (§27.1 OWU). This encompasses storms, floods, hail, falling trees, and similar natural events. On the territory of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Albania and Moldova, natural perils coverage is included (only third-party acts and theft are restricted in those territories per §27.3 OWU).

Source

Vandalism (acts of third parties)

Covered

Acts of third parties ('działanie osób trzecich') are explicitly listed in the definition of 'wypadek' (insured event) under §2.47(d) OWU and covered within the all-risk ACK scope (§27.1 OWU). This includes deliberate damage by third parties (vandalism). However, on the territory of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Albania and Moldova, coverage for third-party acts is excluded (§27.3 OWU). Coverage is also excluded if the vehicle was left with keys inside by the driver and the driver walked away (§29.3.10a OWU).

Roadside assistance (Auto Assistance – ASK)

Conditional

Auto Assistance (ASK) is a separate cover within the Concordia Auto OWU, available in three tiers: Basic (automatically attached to OCK or ACK, covers road collision only, Poland only), Standard (on request, covers accident, breakdown, partial immobilisation, theft, Europe for cars/vans), and Premium (on request, covers all events including full immobilisation, Europe for cars/vans). The sum insured per event is PLN 5,000, optionally extendable to PLN 20,000 (§45 OWU). Basic tier is automatically bundled with ACK (conditional inclusion). Standard/Premium require a separate request and additional premium (optional). Towing limits: Basic 50 km, Standard 100 km, Premium 200 km (or 300 km if bundled with ACK on same policy). Additional benefits in Premium: replacement vehicle (5 days for breakdown, 7 days for accident, 15 days for theft), travel continuation, hotel accommodation (3-star, max 3 nights). Assistance centre operates 24/7 (§46.2 OWU).

Replacement vehicle

Optional

A replacement vehicle is available only in the ASK Premium tier (§43.2.1 OWU). The insurer organises and covers the cost of renting one replacement vehicle of a class equivalent to the damaged vehicle, for a maximum of 5 days in case of breakdown, 7 days for accident, and 15 days for theft. For motorcycles/mopeds the substitute is a class-A passenger car. The vehicle must be rented via or approved by the Operator. If the insured rents independently with insurer's prior consent, reimbursement is limited to PLN 300 (incl. VAT) per day in Poland, or EUR 100 per day abroad. This benefit is only available in the Premium ASK tier, which requires an additional premium.

Driver and passenger accident insurance (NWK)

Optional

Accident insurance for the driver and passengers (NWK) is a separate cover within Concordia Auto OWU (§48–§55). It covers permanent consequences of accidents occurring during vehicle use: boarding/alighting, driving, being in the vehicle during stops or refuelling, or loading/unloading. Geographic scope: Europe. Basic benefits (death, permanent health impairment) are available for the driver and passengers. Additional optional benefits for the driver only (with extra premium): life insurance (up to PLN 50,000 or PLN 100,000), hospitalisation (PLN 1,500 or PLN 3,000), loss of earning capacity (PLN 50,000 or PLN 100,000). The sum insured for basic benefits is agreed between policyholder and insurer. NWK is a separately priced add-on, not included in the base ACK price.

Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

A 30% deductible applies if the driver at the time of a collision/accident had held a driving licence for fewer than 2 years OR was under 25 years of age (§28.2.1 OWU). This deductible can be waived by paying an additional premium (§28.2 final sentence OWU). No deductible applies to natural-perils, theft, or glass claims under these circumstances — the age/experience deductible is limited to 'wypadek' (collision/accident as defined in §2.47 OWU).

Repair network requirements

The insured chooses between two claim settlement variants at policy inception: (1) Service variant (serwisowy): indemnity based on original invoices for labour, parts, and materials. The insurer verifies invoices against Audatex time norms, regional workshop rates, and original list part prices. No depreciation deduction applied on original parts in the service variant (§35 OWU). (2) Cost-estimate variant (kosztorysowy): insurer estimates the loss using Audatex norms, a labour rate of PLN 86.10 gross/hr, and takes the lower of original (with depreciation per §37 table) or alternative part prices. A mandatory 20% deductible applies in this variant (§36.3 OWU). If the insured repairs without prior agreement with the insurer on scope and method, service-variant invoices are reviewed using the cost-estimate rules (§35.6 OWU). Cashless settlement is available at partner workshops (IGP Auto Serwis network) in the service variant.

Territorial scope

Coverage applies throughout Europe (geographic boundaries per §8.4 OWU). In Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Albania, and Moldova, coverage excludes: acts of third parties and events involving theft or loss of the vehicle or its parts (§27.3 OWU). For abroad emergency repairs: if cost does not exceed EUR 1,000 gross, the insured may commission the repair without prior insurer consent (§39.1 OWU).

Anti-theft requirements

For coverage of theft or parts-theft to apply, the vehicle must have at minimum: (a) 1 certified anti-theft device for passenger/cargo vehicles (in passenger car bodywork) with sum insured up to PLN 75,000, and for all other vehicle types regardless of sum insured; (b) 2 certified anti-theft devices for passenger/cargo vehicles (in passenger car bodywork) with sum insured exceeding PLN 75,000. These requirements do not apply to trailers and semi-trailers (§27.4 OWU). Accepted devices (must be technically operational, Poland-certified): car alarm, mechanical gear-lock, immobiliser, anti-hijacking/anti-carjacking device, or other devices accepted by the insurer at policy inception — either factory-fitted or installed by a professional workshop from a professional producer (§27.5 OWU).

Claim notification deadline

In the event of a loss, the insured must notify the insurer within 3 business days of the loss occurrence or becoming aware of it (§31.2.1 OWU). For losses that may constitute a criminal offence, the insured must notify the nearest police unit immediately and obtain written confirmation within 24 hours of learning of the loss (§31.2.2 OWU). The insured must not commence repairs without prior inspection by an insurer representative; however, if the insurer fails to conduct an inspection within 7 days of receiving the notification, this condition lapses (§31.2.4 OWU). For abroad emergency repairs costing under EUR 1,000 gross, the insured may commission repairs without prior insurer consent, and seeks reimbursement on return (§39 OWU).

Deductible rules

The following deductibles apply under the ACK policy (§28 OWU): (1) 30% of loss value if the driver at the time of a collision/accident held a licence fewer than 2 years or was under 25 (§28.2.1); (2) 10% of loss value from the second and subsequent collision/accident claims in a policy year (§28.2.2); (3) 20% of loss value when the cost-estimate settlement variant is chosen (§36.3); (4) PLN 100 per collision/accident claim for fleet vehicles (§28.4); (5) proportional underinsurance reduction if sum insured is more than 5% below market value at inception (§28.5). When multiple deductibles apply simultaneously, the combined deductible is calculated multiplicatively (§28.6). Deductibles (1) and (2) may be waived for an additional premium (§28.2 OWU). The insurer does not cover losses below PLN 100 for glass damage and PLN 400 for all other losses (§29.3.1 OWU) — this is a minimum-damage threshold, not a deductible. A voluntary deductible may also be agreed at the policyholder's request to obtain a premium discount (§28.1.1 OWU).

Policy specifics

Baggage coverage

Luggage and travel items coverage included in the base policy for Auto Casco

Child car seats coverage

Protection for child car seats and child safety devices within Auto Casco insurance

Windscreen and glass coverage

Optional protection for vehicle windows and glass damage

Additional equipment (non-factory-fitted accessories)

Additional equipment (non-factory-standard audio/visual/communication equipment, exterior luggage racks, tow bars, spoilers, advertising wraps, etc.) can be covered under ACK for an additional premium (§26.2 and §30.5–§30.6 OWU). The insured sum for additional equipment may not exceed 20% of the vehicle's market value and must not be higher than PLN 10,000 (§30.6 OWU). Items not listed in the policy at inception, or added after conclusion of the policy without written notification to the insurer, are excluded (§29.3.25 OWU). Losses in additional equipment are valued at retail prices for similar items, reduced by the degree of wear and tear (§38.1 OWU).

Stable sum insured for new vehicles (invoice value protection)

For brand-new vehicles purchased from an authorised dealer and insured within 1 month of purchase, the sum insured may be set at the invoice price. In the event of a total loss occurring within 12 months of contracting, with the vehicle having fewer than 10,000 km and no prior damage, indemnity equals the sum insured (invoice value) rather than market value at loss date (§33.4.1 OWU). Additionally, an optional fixed-sum extension ('stała suma ubezpieczenia', §27.6 OWU) can be agreed for an additional premium for vehicles up to 6 years old at inception, fixing total-loss indemnity at the market value at policy inception throughout the entire policy period.

No reduction of sum insured after first paid claim

Under the Concordia Auto ACK policy, the sum insured is not reduced by the amount of indemnity paid (§30.8 OWU). This is a key differentiator versus market standard. After the total-loss settlement or exhaustion of the sum insured, the policy in the relevant coverage scope terminates (§5.3.9 / §10.3 OWU), but for partial losses the sum insured remains intact throughout the policy year regardless of how many claims are paid.

Vehicle age limit for ACK coverage

By default, vehicles that have been in use for more than 12 years cannot be insured under ACK, except where the policy is a renewal of a previous no-claims ACK policy with the insurer (§26.2.4 OWU). The 10-year limit stated in the discovered constraints is incorrect per the OWU — the correct limit is 12 years. No minimum vehicle value is stated in the OWU.

Excluded vehicle types

The following vehicle types cannot be covered under ACK by default (§26.2 OWU): (1) kit-built vehicles ('składaki'); (2) convertibles (cabriolets); (3) vehicles manufactured in North American countries; (4) vehicles older than 12 years (unless policy renewal after no-claims year); (5) unregistered vehicles subject to registration; (6) right-hand-drive vehicles (adapted for left-hand traffic).

All-risk coverage formula

Concordia Auto Casco operates under the all-risk ('wszelkie zdarzenia niezależne od woli') formula: coverage applies to damage, destruction, or loss of the vehicle or its parts resulting from any event independent of the will of the policyholder, insured, or driver, subject only to the specific exclusions and limitations in §28 and §29 OWU (§27.1 OWU). Coverage extends across Europe (§27.3 OWU).

Repair settlement variant choice

Insured can choose between service settlement (ASO with original parts) or cost-based settlement (cash reimbursement)

Partner repair workshop network

Concordia maintains a network of independent repair workshops (IGP Serwisy Sieci Partnerskiej) where claims can be settled without cash payment

No coinsurance or deductible

Concordia Auto Casco does not apply coinsurance reductions or require customer deductible participation

Stable sum insured in first year for new vehicles

For factory-new vehicles, the sum insured remains stable at the invoice value for the first 12 months of use

Driver age eligibility

Concordia Auto Casco is typically offered to drivers aged 32-69 years old with established driving history

Vehicle age and minimum value requirements

Vehicles must be no older than 10 years and have a minimum value of 15,000 PLN

Existing Concordia insurance requirement for best rates

Best rates for Auto Casco all-risk coverage apply to customers who already hold other property or personal insurance with Concordia on annual premium of 225+ PLN

No-claims discount (Bonus-Malus) protection clause

An optional Bonus-Malus protection clause (§79 OWU) is available for an additional premium: the insurer will not count the first claim in the policy year when determining the BM class at renewal for OCK and/or ACK. Applies per vehicle. Subsequent claims in the same policy year are still counted. For OCK, the clause does not apply if the actual driver's age is lower than the minimum age declared at inception. Glass-only losses never affect the BM class (§34.4, §80.5 OWU), regardless of whether the clause is taken.
