In January 2025, the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) granted Direct pojišťovna a.s. notification approval to operate in Poland as a branch. On 28 March 2025, the entire insurance portfolio of wefox Insurance AG (operating in Poland as wefox Insurance AG Spółka Akcyjna Oddział w Polsce) was transferred to Direct ubezpieczenia (Direct pojišťovna a.s. Spółka Akcyjna Oddział w Polsce) in accordance with a KNF decision and with continuity of coverage for approximately 400,000 policyholders.
