Direct payment
UNIQA's Alarm Centre (Centrum Alarmowe) organises and pays medical services directly to providers abroad; the insured must contact the Alarm Centre within 48 hours of the event. Reimbursement of costs self-incurred abroad (without prior Alarm Centre authorisation) is possible only for a single dental visit or single outpatient visit and must be claimed in writing within 7 days of return to Poland.

Hospitalisation (inpatient treatment, procedures, surgery) is covered as part of the KL sum; no separate sub-limit applies – the full KL limit governs. Podstawowy: 300,000 PLN; Rozszerzony: 750,000 PLN; Optymalny: 1,250,000 PLN; Maksymalny: 2,500,000 PLN. Hospitalisation defined as uninterrupted stay of at least 24 hours.
Outpatient (ambulatory) treatment

Outpatient treatment (ambulatory care, diagnostic tests, prescribed medicines, specialist consultations) is covered within the full KL limit. Podstawowy: 300,000 PLN; Rozszerzony: 750,000 PLN; Optymalny: 1,250,000 PLN; Maksymalny: 2,500,000 PLN. No sub-limit for ambulatory care in USA, Canada, or Australia.
Emergency dental treatment
PLN 2,500
Covers dental treatment for acute inflammatory or pain conditions requiring immediate medical attention. Sub-limit of 2,500 PLN applies across all four variants. Routine/conservative and prosthodontic dental care is excluded. One self-chosen dental visit does not require prior Alarm Centre notification.
Medical transport (from incident to medical facility)

Covers transport from the place of accident or sudden illness to the nearest appropriate hospital or medical facility, and between facilities if the current facility is inadequate. Limit equals the full KL sum per variant: Podstawowy 300,000 PLN; Rozszerzony 750,000 PLN; Optymalny 1,250,000 PLN; Maksymalny 2,500,000 PLN. Arranged and covered by the Alarm Centre.
Medical evacuation / repatriation to Poland or country of residence

Covers necessary and documented costs of medical transport of the insured to Poland or country of residence (to a medical facility or home address) when required by the treating physician due to sudden illness or accident; also covers post-treatment transport when the insured cannot continue the trip. If transport to country of residence costs more than transport to Poland, the Poland transport cost is the liability cap. Limit equals the KL sum: Podstawowy 300,000 PLN; Rozszerzony 750,000 PLN; Optymalny 1,250,000 PLN; Maksymalny 2,500,000 PLN.
Repatriation of remains / burial abroad

If the insured dies abroad due to accident or sudden illness, the Alarm Centre organises and covers: (1) burial abroad OR transport of the body to Poland or country of residence; (2) purchase of coffin abroad or purchase of urn and cremation abroad. Coffin/urn/cremation sub-limit: 6,000 PLN (all variants). Repatriation covered within the full KL limit: Podstawowy 300,000 PLN; Rozszerzony 750,000 PLN; Optymalny 1,250,000 PLN; Maksymalny 2,500,000 PLN.
Search and rescue operation costs (koszty ratownictwa)
PLN 300,000 – PLN 2,500,000
Covers necessary and documented costs of professional rescue or search operations conducted by specialised rescue services to save the life or health of the insured during any sporting activity abroad. Includes: search costs from report to recovery; first-aid costs at the scene; transport by specialised services (sledge, helicopter, toboggan, motorboat) to the nearest required medical care point. Limit equals the KL sum: Podstawowy 300,000 PLN; Rozszerzony 750,000 PLN; Optymalny 1,250,000 PLN; Maksymalny 2,500,000 PLN.
COVID-19 treatment and isolation/quarantine assistance
PLN 300,000 – PLN 2,500,000
COVID-19 is treated as a sudden illness and covered under the KL (medical costs) benefit up to the full KL limit per variant. Additionally, mandatory isolation benefit: up to 5,000 PLN (all variants) for accommodation/meals if isolation cannot take place at the current accommodation or exceeds planned stay. Mandatory quarantine benefit: up to 5,000 PLN (all variants) for accommodation/meals and return transport if quarantine exceeds planned stay.
Pre-existing conditions – chronic/mental/neoplastic disease exacerbation

Standard pre-existing condition exclusion applies: costs of treating diseases diagnosed or manifested before policy inception are excluded (OWU §7, Klauzula KL §7 point 6). EXCEPTION (key differentiator): sudden exacerbation of chronic, mental, or neoplastic disease occurring after crossing the Polish border during the trip is covered up to the full KL sum at no additional premium. All four variants: Podstawowy 300,000 PLN; Rozszerzony 750,000 PLN; Optymalny 1,250,000 PLN; Maksymalny 2,500,000 PLN. 'Chronic disease' defined as diagnosed/treated or showing symptoms in the 24 months preceding policy conclusion.
Winter sports cover (amateur skiing and snowboarding)
PLN 300,000 – PLN 2,500,000
Amateur skiing and snowboarding (including snowpark without acrobatics) are included as standard amateur sports (category A, Annex 4) across all variants at no additional premium; medical treatment and NNW coverage apply within the full KL and NNW sums. Optional 'Pakiet Zimowy' (Winter Package) add-on available for additional premium across all variants: ski-pass reimbursement up to 1,250 PLN; daily benefit for closed pistes 100 PLN/day (max 10 days, 15 Dec–30 Mar); ski/snowboard equipment rental reimbursement 100 PLN/day (max 10 days). Skiing/snowboarding off-piste (poza wyznaczonymi trasami) is categorised as high-risk sport (SWR) requiring additional premium.
High-risk and extreme sports coverage (SWR / SE)

Sports beyond the standard amateur list (Annex 4 category A) require additional premium. High-risk sports (SWR – category B): includes off-piste skiing/snowboarding, mountain biking, kitesurfing, rafting, skitouring, diving below 30m, parkour, rowing, climbing to 3,500m, via ferrata to 3,500m, etc. Extreme sports (SE – category C): includes freediving, downhill, halfpipe, heliskiing, BASE jumping, bungee jumping, ski jumping, paragliding, speleology, trekking above 3,500m, etc. Purchasing SE coverage automatically includes SWR at the same premium uplift. All limits remain as per the applicable KL/NNW variant sums.
Pregnancy complications
Excluded
The policy explicitly excludes: abortion/termination of pregnancy; childbirth occurring after the 32nd week of pregnancy; artificial fertilisation and any other infertility treatment. There is no dedicated pregnancy complications benefit. Complications arising before the 32nd week of pregnancy that qualify as sudden illness may be covered under general KL provisions, but no explicit pregnancy complication benefit exists.
Third-party liability in private life (OC w życiu prywatnym)

Covers civil liability of the insured for personal injury (death, bodily harm, health impairment) or property damage caused to third parties by tort during foreign travel. Limits for personal injury (szkody osobowe) / property damage (szkody rzeczowe, 50% of personal injury limit): Podstawowy 200,000 / 100,000 PLN; Rozszerzony 250,000 / 125,000 PLN; Optymalny 500,000 / 250,000 PLN; Maksymalny 1,000,000 / 500,000 PLN. Deductible: 500 PLN per event. Excludes: damage to family members; sports-related liability (requires OC Sport add-on); professional liability; motor vehicles; damage below 500 PLN equivalent.
Legal assistance abroad (pomoc prawna)

If the insured needs legal assistance in criminal or misdemeanour matters in the country of travel, the Alarm Centre arranges and pays the lawyer's and interpreter's fees up to 12,500 PLN (identical across all four variants). Excludes matters related to the insured's work, business activity, or driving a motor vehicle. If proceedings show intentional conduct by the insured, the costs must be reimbursed to UNIQA.
24/7 immediate assistance (natychmiastowa pomoc assistance)

The Alarm Centre (Centrum Alarmowe) operates 24/7 and provides the following assistance services within the KL sum limit: hospital selection and admission organisation; transport cost coverage for one accompanying person (economy air/rail/bus, accommodation up to 7 days at 500 PLN/day); transport and care for minor children (economy class, up to 5,000 PLN); transport of relatives under the same policy (up to 5,000 PLN); transport for a summoned companion (economy class + 7-day accommodation up to 5,000 PLN transport); early return assistance (up to 5,000 PLN); convalescence accommodation (500 PLN/day, up to 7 days); information services; lost document assistance; COVID-19 isolation/quarantine assistance; pet treatment reimbursement (up to 1,500 PLN). Total limit equals the KL sum per variant: Podstawowy 300,000 PLN; Rozszerzony 750,000 PLN; Optymalny 1,250,000 PLN; Maksymalny 2,500,000 PLN.
