Coverage limits
Own damage (daños al propio vehículo)
Optional
Covers damage suffered by the insured motorcycle in an accident, regardless of who is at fault. Partial losses are indemnified at 100% of repair cost. Total loss is declared when the repair budget exceeds 100% of the market value; in that case indemnification equals new value during the first 12 months from first registration, and market value from month 13 onwards. A percentage deductible (minimum fixed amount) applies to all parts and is specified in the Particular Conditions. Also includes a separate sub-cover (II.2.3A) for damage caused by animals invading the roadway, subject to an official police report (no deductible applies to the animal-damage sub-cover). All optional covers must be expressly contracted.
Total loss
Optional
Total loss is declared when the estimated repair cost exceeds 100% of the market value of the motorcycle. Indemnification: new value (value of new same model at authorised dealer including taxes) during the first 12 months from first registration; market value (Ganvam or equivalent guide) from month 13 onwards. The residual value of remains is deducted when they remain in the possession of the insured. Applies within the own-damage optional cover.
Partial loss
Optional
Partial losses under the own-damage cover are indemnified at 100% of the repair cost (except where the claim relates solely to theft or fire, which cover total loss only). A percentage deductible with a fixed minimum amount is deducted from the total payable. Only manufacturer standard-fit equipment is covered; non-standard accessories are excluded. Tyre repair/replacement is excluded (available as a separate optional cover).
Total theft/robbery (robo total del vehículo)
Optional
Covers indemnification for the complete, illegitimate theft of the motorcycle by third parties where there are signs of force on the vehicle or violence/intimidation against persons. Insurer has 30 days to investigate; if the vehicle is recovered within 30 days the insured must accept its return (after repair at insurer's cost); if recovered after 30 days the vehicle becomes insurer property. Separate fire cover (II.2.2) indemnifies total loss caused by fire, explosion or lightning. Both covers are optional and must be expressly contracted. The following are excluded: vandalistic acts, partial theft of parts, keys left in vehicle, negligence of the insured.
Glass damage
Excluded
The motorcycle general conditions (W0018/January 2026) do not include a windscreen or glass damage cover. This cover exists in the car policy (0030/January 2010) but that is a separate product and its terms do not apply here.
Natural perils (own vehicle)
Excluded
The motorcycle policy does not include a standalone natural perils cover for own-vehicle damage (e.g. hail, flood, storm). Extraordinary events (earthquakes, floods, etc.) are covered by the Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros under the statutory extraordinary-risk scheme, not by Línea Directa directly. Animal-impact damage (II.2.3A) is a separate optional cover within own-damage, not a natural perils cover.
Vandalism
Excluded
Vandalistic acts are explicitly excluded from both the total theft cover (Art. 27) and the total fire cover (Art. 30) of the motorcycle policy. Vandalism is not covered under any other section of the general or supplementary conditions.
Roadside assistance (asistencia en viaje)
Optional
Two optional tiers available. (1) Urban Assistance (Urbana): emergency repair at breakdown point (max 30 min), towing to nearest workshop within 10 km of breakdown within a 20 km radius of the declared home address; rescue up to €300; assistance to persons (transfer to home/destination) within 5–20 km radius of home. (2) Total Assistance (Total): covers all of Spain, Europe and Carta Verde countries from km 0; emergency repair (max 30 min), towing to chosen workshop in Spain (or nearest specialist up to 100 km abroad); spare parts delivery; rescue up to €300; legal assistance abroad up to €1,500; bail advance abroad up to €6,020; medical expenses abroad up to €6,020; hotel accommodation up to 4 nights; repatriation/transfer services; advance of funds abroad up to €1,600. Both tiers are optional and must be expressly contracted. Requested via 24h assistance line (900 123 023 from Spain; 00 34 91 807 49 54 from abroad).
Replacement vehicle (vehículo de sustitución)
Optional
Optional add-on to Total Assistance cover (must be expressly contracted). Provides a replacement motorcycle of maximum 250cc when the insured motorcycle is immobilised. Available once per coverage period. Causes and durations: (a) any claim causing immobilisation requiring more than 24h repair time — replacement for up to 7 days once the repair budget is approved; (b) total loss — replacement for up to 15 days; (c) theft — replacement for up to 15 days, commencing 24h after filing the police report. Breakdowns are expressly excluded. Subject to availability of rental companies and their terms. Driver must meet age and licence requirements for the substitute vehicle.
Driver accident cover (seguro del conductor)
Optional
Optional cover (II.3) indemnifying the declared insured conductor and/or the tomador for death and permanent disability as a consequence of a traffic accident while travelling, boarding or alighting from the motorcycle, or carrying out roadside repairs. Capital limits are set in the Particular Conditions. A single accident cannot give rise simultaneously to both death and permanent disability indemnities; any permanent disability payments are deducted from the death capital. Subjective sequelae and aesthetic impairment are excluded. Medical assistance costs (including rehabilitation transport, cosmetic surgery, prostheses within 12 months of the accident) are reimbursed up to limits in the Particular Conditions, upon submission of invoices. Disability is assessed according to the schedule in Art. 38 (e.g. complete paraplegia/tetraplegia/hemiplegia = 100%; arm or hand = 55%; total deafness both ears = 50%).
Key conditions

The declared driver (if different from the tomador) must: (a) be the tomador's spouse; (b) be over 20 years of age; and (c) hold at least 2 years' valid driving licence for the insured motorcycle. These requirements apply to all optional covers (Art. 47.h of the General Conditions).
repair_network_requirements
The insured has free choice of workshop for own-damage repairs. When Línea Directa pays the workshop directly, invoices must be made out in Línea Directa's name. When the insured is reimbursed, prior submission of repair invoices is required. The tyre cover and the mechanical assistance service (Ayuda Mecánica) must be requested through the insurer's authorised assistance centre and are provided exclusively through the insurer's network of collaborating mechanical workshops.
territorial_scope
Own-damage, theft and fire covers: all Carta Verde countries. Roadside assistance (Urbana): Spain and bordering countries (Andorra, France, Portugal, Gibraltar) within a 20 km radius of the declared home address. Technical equipment and helmet covers: Spain, Europe and Mediterranean Rim countries (Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, Egypt, Palestine, Israel, Algeria, Libya, Lebanon, Cyprus, Syria). anti_theft_requirements
For the total theft cover to apply, the theft must involve signs of force on the vehicle or violence/intimidation against persons. If the keys or any device for opening or operating the vehicle have not been removed from it, the claim is excluded. The insured must file a police report (denuncia) and provide a copy to Línea Directa.
claim_notification_deadline
The insured must notify Línea Directa of the claim and all related information as soon as possible and in any case within 7 days of becoming aware of it (Art. 14). For the accident accident-protection plan (Plan Mundial de Protección de Accidentes), notification must also be made within 7 days of the accident date. For roadside assistance, services must be requested through the 24h assistance centre (900 123 023) and only authorised services will be attended.
deductible_rules
Own-damage, fire and theft covers always carry a percentage deductible with a fixed minimum amount applied to the total claim value; the exact percentage and minimum are stated in the Particular Conditions. The deductible applies to all parts. No deductible applies to: (a) the compulsory third-party liability cover; (b) the animal-damage sub-cover (II.2.3A); (c) the tyre cover (VII). In partial losses without an identified third-party vehicle, tyres are indemnified at 80% of new value; where a third-party vehicle is identified, at 100%.
