Key conditions

Territorial scope

Liability cover extends automatically to around 38 European and neighbouring territories listed on the insurance certificate (including all EU/EEA countries, the UK, Switzerland, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Cyprus government-controlled areas, Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey), unless the certificate states otherwise.

Green card rules

The green card/insurance certificate is the proof of liability cover; it becomes invalid as soon as the contract ends or is cancelled or suspended, and cover outside the listed territories is not guaranteed.

Driver restrictions

The vehicle must be driven by a person who has reached the legally required driving age and holds a valid licence for the vehicle category; if these conditions are breached, AXA may, within statutory limits, recover the indemnity paid from the policyholder or the driver at fault.

Claim notification deadline

The policyholder or insured must report an accident to AXA as soon as possible and, in any case, no later than 8 days after it occurs.

Bonus-malus rules

The liability premium is personalised yearly on a scale from 100% (5 or more consecutive claim-free years) up to 130% (no claim-free years), and further increased up to 412.5% depending on the number of at-fault claims in the last 5 years; the 'Joker for You' benefit, if acquired, can neutralise the premium increase following the first at-fault claims.
