Direct payment

Casco claims can be settled either as a cash payment based on the actual or estimated repair cost (including a repair-cost estimate generated by a recognised pricing system without requiring repair invoices), or, if agreed, as an in-kind settlement where Generali arranges the repair or replacement of the damaged item directly.

Geographic scope

Europe and Turkey

Casco (havarijní pojištění) covers events occurring in countries within the geographic territory of Europe including the whole territory of Turkey, excluding Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine, unless the policy or terms state otherwise. Separate international-sanctions/full-embargo exclusions also apply (e.g. Iran, Syria, North Korea, Crimea, Zaporizhzhia/Kherson/Donetsk/Luhansk regions, Venezuela with a US nexus, Belarus, Russia, Cuba with a US nexus).

Coverage limits

Own damage / collision cover

Conditional

Only in All Risk, Expres, Havárie a živel

Collision/own-damage cover (havárie) is included in the All Risk, Expres and Havárie a živel variants, but excluded from the Odcizení a živel variant, which covers only theft and natural perils. The claim ceiling (pojistná částka or limit) is chosen and set by the policyholder in the policy; the T&Cs do not prescribe a default sum insured.

Source

Total loss settlement

Conditional

Only in All Risk, Expres, Havárie a živel, Odcizení a živel

If repair costs equal or exceed 70% of the vehicle's market value immediately before the event (a 'totální škoda'), the insurer pays the market value less the value of usable salvage. This settlement applies within whichever variant (All Risk, Expres, Havárie a živel, Odcizení a živel) covers the peril that caused the loss; there is no fixed total-loss sum beyond the contractually agreed sum insured/limit.

Source

Partial loss settlement

Conditional

Only in All Risk, Expres, Havárie a živel, Odcizení a živel

If repair costs are below 70% of the vehicle's pre-event market value (a 'částečná škoda'), the insurer pays either the documented repair invoice or a repair-cost estimate (rozpočet) generated from a recognised pricing system, without requiring repair receipts. This applies within whichever variant covers the triggering peril; the sum insured/limit is set by the policyholder in the policy.

Theft and robbery

Conditional

Only in All Risk, Expres, Odcizení a živel

Theft and robbery (odcizení) are covered under the All Risk, Expres and Odcizení a živel variants, but not under Havárie a živel, which excludes theft. If the vehicle is not recovered by the time the claim investigation is closed, the insurer pays the market value immediately before the event; the sum insured/limit is set by the policyholder.

Glass damage (All Glass)

CZK 3,000 – CZK 100,000

Optional 'All Glass' supplementary insurance for windscreen, side/rear windows, sunroof, panoramic roof glass, all-glass doors and mirrors, damaged by collision, theft, natural perils or vandalism. The limit is selectable from 3,000 CZK up to 100,000 CZK; chip repair by resin injection is settled with no deductible, while replacement is settled at reasonable repair cost or via a cost estimate.

Natural perils / Acts of God

Covered

Only in All Risk, Expres, Havárie a živel, Odcizení a živel

Damage caused by natural perils (hail, flood, fire, windstorm, landslide, snow/ice avalanche, snow/ice load, lightning, explosion, inundation, earthquake) is covered under every casco variant (All Risk, Expres, Havárie a živel, Odcizení a živel). The sum insured/limit is set by the policyholder in the policy.

Vandalism

Conditional

Only in All Risk, Expres, Havárie a živel

Vandalism cover is included in All Risk, Expres and Havárie a živel, but not in Odcizení a živel, which excludes vandalism. A separate 'Vandal' supplementary insurance also exists, covering exterior mirrors, wiper arms and antennas of a parked vehicle (extendable to paint, body panels, tyres, wheels/covers and glazing if video evidence of the incident is provided).

Roadside assistance

Only in S, M, L, XL, Souprava

Optional roadside-assistance rider, sold in variants S/M/L/XL/Souprava; not automatically included with either MTPL or casco. Overall per-event claim limits range from 2,000 CZK (variant S, Czech Republic, vehicles up to 3.5t) to 300,000 CZK (variant Souprava, abroad, vehicles over 3.5t), with variant XL offering an unlimited overall ceiling; sub-limits apply per individual service (towing distance, mechanic time, replacement vehicle days, accommodation nights, etc.).

Replacement vehicle rental reimbursement

CZK 50,000

Optional 'Půjčovné' (rental reimbursement) supplementary insurance covers rental costs for a replacement vehicle while the insured vehicle is repaired following a casco claim, up to 50,000 CZK with a no-deductible option, or with a selectable deductible of 1%-30% (minimum 1,000-30,000 CZK) or a fixed deductible of 1,000-30,000 CZK; requires repair at an authorised/contracted workshop and rental from a business licensed to rent vehicles, and only applies once the repair exceeds 2 days (16 working hours).

Accident insurance for driver and passengers

Optional

Optional 'Úrazové pojištění dopravovaných osob' pays a lump sum for death or permanent injury and a daily benefit for necessary treatment following an accident occurring during vehicle operation; sums insured are individually agreed in the policy and are not fixed by the T&Cs.

Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

The T&Cs do not set a minimum driver age or experience requirement for casco cover; standard exclusions instead apply if the driver lacked a valid driving licence, was disqualified, or was under the influence of alcohol/drugs at the time of the incident.

Repair network requirements

There is no mandatory repair network under casco cover; policyholders may use any repair shop or choose not to repair at all and keep the cash settlement. However, a premium discount can be agreed for accepting a recommended (doporučená) workshop from the insurer's contracted network, and using a different shop reduces the claim payment in the same proportion as the discount granted; a similar proportional reduction applies if a discount was given for a security device that cannot be proven active/maintained.

Territorial scope

Casco cover applies within the geographic territory of Europe (including all of Turkey), excluding Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine, unless the policy or T&Cs state otherwise; some supplementary covers (e.g. Odcizení vozidla, Živelní událost, Nerovnost vozovky, Vandal) are valid only within the Czech Republic.

Anti-theft requirements

No specific anti-theft device is mandatory to obtain cover, but if the vehicle is fitted with an approved mechanical or electronic security device installed by an authorised installer, the policyholder receives a premium discount; failure to prove the device was active and properly maintained lets the insurer reduce the claim payment in the same proportion as the discount granted.

Claim notification deadline

The policyholder must notify Generali of a claim without undue delay ('bez zbytečného odkladu'); the current T&Cs (VPPPMV-R-5/2025) do not set a fixed day-count deadline for casco claims. A 30-day figure appears only in the superseded 2023 edition and the fleet product's IPID, and there relates to MTPL/general reporting, not this current casco product.

Deductible rules

Deductibles are agreed in the policy as a fixed amount, a percentage of the claim, or a combination of both; if the claim amount is lower than the deductible, no payment is made. Marketing materials indicate selectable deductible levels of 1%, 5%, 10%, 20% or 30%. Glass claims settled by resin repair (scelení) are paid with no deductible applied.
