Czech Business Insurance Company, a.s., Vienna Insurance Group
ČPP
ČPP is a motor third-party liability insurance for the Czech Republic market with online purchase and 24/7 assistance.
Direct payment
The injured third party (poškozený) has the right to claim compensation directly from the insurer; premiums must be paid exclusively by bank transfer to the insurer's account.
Geographic scope
Czech Republic
Coverage applies in EU member states, EEA states, and other states designated by the Czech Insurers' Bureau and marked on the green card.
Unique selling points
- Liability limits up to 200 million CZK (SUPERPOV) — well above the statutory minimum required in the Czech Republic.
- Free 24/7 roadside assistance via Global Assistance is included in every MTPL variant, covering both breakdowns and accidents.
- Assistance service limits are added together when MTPL and casco insurance are held simultaneously.
- Seasonal MTPL lets motorcyclists and seasonal drivers insure only the months they use the vehicle, without depositing the registration plates.
- Extrabenefit Profi grants a 36-month bonus advance (worth up to a 15% discount) from day one for drivers with a good claims history, reaching higher discounts faster than the standard bonus schedule.
Coverage limits
Bodily Injury Liability
CZK 50,000,000 – CZK 200,000,000
Covers bodily injury or death caused to third parties by the operation of the insured vehicle. Three selectable limits: SPOROPOV 50 million CZK, SPECIÁLPOV 100 million CZK, SUPERPOV 200 million CZK, per injured person.
Property Damage Liability
CZK 50,000,000 – CZK 200,000,000
Covers damage to property (including lost profit) caused to third parties, regardless of number of injured parties. Limits: SPOROPOV 50 million CZK, SPECIÁLPOV 100 million CZK, SUPERPOV 200 million CZK.
Legal Defence Costs
Covered
Reasonably incurred legal representation costs when asserting a claim for bodily injury or property damage are covered, but only within the same overall liability limit (no separate sublimit); for property/lost-profit claims this applies only if the statutory settlement deadline lapsed or the insurer unjustifiably refused or reduced the claim.
Green Card
Covered
The insurer issues a green card (international motor insurance certificate) immediately after the policy is concluded, indicating the territorial validity of the cover; this is a certificate, not a monetary benefit, so no coverage amount applies.
Roadside Assistance
CZK 1,000 – CZK 10,000
Free 24/7 roadside assistance via Global Assistance is included with every MTPL variant, covering breakdown and accident (arrival/departure of assistance, on-site repair, vehicle recovery, towing). Limit depends on tier: SPOROPOV (Asistence Sporo) 1,000 CZK per event, domestic only; SPECIÁLPOV/SUPERPOV (Asistence Standard) 2,500 CZK domestic / 5,000 CZK abroad for vehicles up to 3.5t (3,500/10,000 CZK for heavier vehicles). Limits are added together if MTPL and casco are both held.
Driver Accident Insurance
CZK 100,000
The MTPL liability cover explicitly excludes injury suffered by the at-fault driver. As a paid add-on (doplňkové pojištění), accident cover can be arranged for the driver only, providing 100,000 CZK for death, 150,000 CZK for permanent disability, and 100 CZK/day for treatment and hospitalisation.
Passenger Accident Insurance
CZK 100,000
As a paid add-on, the same accident rider can be extended to front-seat occupants or to all persons carried in the vehicle, providing 100,000 CZK for death, 150,000 CZK for permanent disability, and 100 CZK/day daily allowance for treatment or hospitalisation.
Key conditions
Territorial scope
Coverage applies in EU member states, EEA states, and other states designated by the Czech Insurers' Bureau and marked on the green card; the SPOROPOV variant can be arranged with an excess applying to losses occurring outside the Czech Republic.
Green card rules
The insurer issues the green card immediately upon conclusion of the policy and marks on it the territorial validity of the cover for states outside the EU/EEA that are recognised by the green card system.
Driver restrictions
There is no fixed list of authorised drivers, but the insurer has a statutory right of recourse against the policyholder/driver if the vehicle was driven without a valid licence, under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or during a driving ban, or if the driver left the accident scene without good cause.
Claim notification deadline
The insured must notify the insurer of a loss event in writing without undue delay, describing the facts of the event; the insurer must complete its investigation within 3 months of notification or explain in writing why this cannot be done.
Bonus-malus rules
Premium is adjusted using a bonus/malus system based on prior claims history (minimum tracked history 120 months). Maximum bonus at entry is 50% (for 120+ months claim-free); malus can reach 150% after 61+ months in the red zone. Bonus/malus cannot be transferred between vehicle categories (e.g. motorcycle to car).
