UNIQA
UNIQA is a motor third-party liability insurance for the CZ market with online purchase and 24/7 assistance.
Direct payment
UNIQA pays claims directly to the injured third party. In cases where the insured is at fault and damages their own vehicle simultaneously, UNIQA offers optional 'Přímá likvidace Profík' (DPP/As/Profík/24) allowing UNIQA to handle the claim with the at-fault party's insurer on behalf of the policyholder.

International certificate of insurance issued with every MTPL policy. Issued electronically and/or in paper form. From October 1, 2024, no longer required on Czech territory but mandatory when travelling abroad. Now issued in black-and-white format. POV covers events in all EU/EEA member states and countries indicated on the green card.
Roadside assistance (Basic UNIQA Assistance)
Covered
Basic roadside assistance (UCZ/As-A/24 Article 5) is included with every MTPL policy at no extra charge. Enhanced 'UNIQA Asistence PLUS' with higher limits available as paid add-on.
Driver accident coverage
Excluded
Bodily injury sustained by the driver of the insured vehicle is explicitly excluded from MTPL coverage under UCZ/POV/24 Article 6.1.a, to the extent it arose from or was worsened by circumstances attributable to the driver. Optional accident insurance for the driver seat can be added via 'Připojištění SEDADEL' (UCZ/Voz/24 Art. 8, variant 'Řidič').
Passenger accident coverage (Seat insurance)
Optional
Not included in base MTPL. Optional 'Připojištění SEDADEL' (UCZ/Voz/24 Art. 8) covers passengers against injury or death from accident while travelling in, entering or exiting the insured vehicle. Available in 'Paušální systém' (all occupants up to maximum listed in registration document) or 'Řidič' (driver only) variants. Covers permanent disability, death by accident, and daily hospital allowance.
Key conditions
territorial_scope
MTPL covers claims arising in all EU member states, EEA contracting states, and countries designated by the Czech Insurers' Bureau, as well as countries indicated on the green card if issued by the insurer. Coverage extends to the geographic Europe including the Asian part of Turkey for add-on coverages. (UCZ/POV/24 Art. 3; UCZ/Voz/24 Art. 5.2)
green_card_rules
A green card (now issued in black-and-white format) is issued with every MTPL policy as proof of insurance. From October 1, 2024, it is no longer required as a document on Czech territory (controlled via online registry of the Czech Insurers' Bureau), but remains mandatory when travelling abroad. UNIQA issues the green card electronically and/or by post. (UCZ/POV/24 Art. 3; confirmed by uniqa.cz/pov2024/)
driver_restrictions
Coverage is void and the insurer has recourse against the policyholder if the vehicle was operated without a valid driving licence, if a driving ban was in effect, or if an elderly driver lacked required medical certification. The insurer may claim back any amounts paid to injured third parties in these cases. (UCZ/POV/24 Art. 7.2; UCZ/Kas/24 Art. 13.2.e)
claim_notification_deadline
The insured must notify the insurer without undue delay (bez zbytečného odkladu) of any damage event, providing the factual circumstances and all relevant documents. In case of a traffic accident not requiring police involvement, a completed joint accident report (společný záznam o dopravní nehodě) must be submitted without undue delay. (UCZ/POV/24 Art. 5.4)
bonus_malus_rules
Premiums are adjusted by a Bonus-Malus system. Maximum bonus is 50% reduction (class B10 after 120+ claim-free months). Each POV claim reduces the claim-free period by 3 classes (increases premium). The insurer considers a minimum of 5 years and maximum 20 years of past claims history when setting the premium. PRIMA Bonus (classes B11–B13 with 50% bonus) applies to 'Super' product variants. Claims offset within 6 weeks of payout notification do not affect the Bonus-Malus class. (UCZ/POV/24 Art. 4; UCZ/Voz/24 Art. 12)
