UNIQA
UNIQA is a motor third-party liability insurance for the Czech Republic market with online purchase and 24/7 assistance.
Direct payment
UNIQA settles third-party liability claims directly with the injured party or their insurer. An optional direct-settlement service ('Profík') is also available so that, in eligible cases, the insurer negotiates directly with the at-fault party's insurer, removing the need for the policyholder to negotiate personally.
Geographic scope

Cover applies to events occurring in EU/EEA member states, states designated by the Czech Insurance Bureau, and states marked on the Green Card, if issued

Only in UNIQA asistence (základní, v ceně), UNIQA asistence PLUS (za příplatek), UNIQA asistence PLUS a SafeLine (za příplatek)
Basic 'UNIQA asistence' (24/7, covering CZ/SK and abroad) is included free of charge with MTPL (or CASCO). It covers on-site repair, towing (unlimited for accidents in CZ/SK, limited to 50 km for breakdowns), vehicle storage, replacement transport/accommodation, key loss, flat tyre, dead battery, fuel issues, and vehicle theft, with limits varying by event type and territory (e.g. on-site repair up to 2,800 CZK / 150 EUR). An enhanced paid tier, 'UNIQA asistence PLUS' (optionally with SafeLine telematics), raises these limits substantially.
Driver personal accident cover
Optional
Accident insurance for the driver (permanent injury, death, hospitalisation) is an optional add-on ('Pojištění úrazu'). It can be purchased standalone if it covers the policyholder as driver, or otherwise must be combined with MTPL or CASCO. Limits are chosen by the customer in the policy.
Passenger/all-occupant accident cover
Optional
Accident insurance can optionally be extended to cover all occupants of the vehicle (not just the driver), including a special variant for children under 18 (monthly annuity on death of a parent-driver, permanent injury cover, and daily hospitalisation benefit). Must be combined with MTPL or CASCO (except cover for the policyholder personally). Limits are chosen by the customer.
Key conditions
Territorial scope
MTPL covers events occurring in EU member states, other EEA contracting states, states designated by the Assembly of the Czech Insurance Bureau, and states marked on the Green Card if issued.
Green card rules
The Green Card is no longer mandatory for domestic travel within the Czech Republic (since 2025) but is still required for travel outside the Czech Republic; it is accepted in electronic or physical form.
Driver restrictions
The provided policy terms do not state specific age or licence-holding restrictions for MTPL; general exclusions apply (e.g. driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, driving without required authorisation, use of the vehicle for a crime) as set out in the general policy exclusions.
Claim notification deadline
Claims must be reported without undue delay ('bez zbytečného odkladu'). The insurer must complete its investigation and notify the amount of compensation, or give reasons for rejection/reduction, within 3 months of notification; otherwise the policyholder may complain to the Czech National Bank.
Bonus-malus rules
UNIQA applies a Bonus/Malus system rewarding accident-free driving history with discounts of up to 50%; at the 100-million-CZK limit tier the first claim does not affect the bonus, and at the 150-million-CZK tier the premium is fixed for the entire contract term.
