Direct payment

The insurer has the right, instead of cash compensation, to undertake the repair of the vehicle at an authorized cooperative workshop. Glass damage is replaced free of charge through the insurer's coordination when covered. Repairs at authorized workshops can proceed without the insured paying out of pocket.

Geographic scope

Greece (all territories)

All optional/casco coverages apply exclusively within Greek territory (Article 26 of Special Terms). MTPL liability extends to EU/EEA via Green Card; own-damage and supplementary coverages are Greece-only.

Unique selling points

  • Part of the Baloise Group (Switzerland) and Basler Lebensversicherungs-AG (Germany), Atlantiki Enosi holds the highest solvency ratio among Greek insurers at 284.34%, offering exceptional financial security.
  • 24/7 accident care response: a company representative dispatched to the accident scene to handle declarations, photograph vehicles, and transport the immobilized vehicle to the insured's chosen workshop, accessible via a dedicated helpline (10234) or the Atlantiki Assistance app.
  • Glass damage replaced free of charge at authorized workshops with guaranteed quality, coordinated directly by the insurer with no out-of-pocket payment by the insured.
  • Selectable own-damage deductibles (150/300/450/600/900€) in the Atlantic Max tier, allowing policyholders to adjust their premium-to-protection ratio; plus a Bonus Malus Protection rider that shields policyholders from premium surcharge after a first claim.
  • Comprehensive Travel and Roadside Assistance Plus covering not only accident towing but also hotel accommodation (up to 250€), journey continuation transport, rental car during trips, and medical evacuation — all bundled within the policy.

Coverage limits

Own Damage (Collision / Comprehensive)

Conditional

Covers damage to the insured vehicle caused exclusively by collision, impact, overturning, swerving, or falling. Available only in Atlantic Max tier; not included in Atlantic Plus (fire+theft tier). Deductible options of 150€, 300€, 450€, 600€ or 900€ per accident apply; insurer is liable for the excess above the agreed deductible. Insurer may opt to repair rather than pay cash. Young drivers under 23 or holding licence less than 12 months without declared additional premium receive only 50% of the claim. The insured sum is based on market value at time of loss accounting for depreciation.

Total Loss

Conditional

In the event of total destruction, the insured sum is based on the market value of the vehicle at the time of loss (not the policy inception value), accounting for depreciation. If damage repair cost exceeds the vehicle value, the claim is treated as a total loss. Available under the own-damage (Μικτή) coverage of Atlantic Max tier only.

Partial Loss (Own Damage)

Conditional

Partial damage from collision, impact, overturning, or swerving is covered under the own-damage (Μικτή) clause of Atlantic Max. The agreed deductible (150/300/450/600/900€ per accident) is subtracted; insurer pays the excess. Valuation at market value at time of loss net of depreciation. Tyre-only damage excluded unless concurrent with other covered damage. Damage during unauthorized use/theft, pre-existing damage from poor maintenance, and damage to catalytic converter in isolation are excluded.

Theft / Robbery (Total and Partial)

Vehicle found within 60 days with damage exceeding 90% of value is treated as total loss. Extended total theft (coverage code 0005): covers vehicles found within 60 days with damage exceeding 50% of value. Partial theft (coverage code 0006): covers value of stolen parts firmly attached to the vehicle necessary for operation, plus body damage caused during removal, and attempted break-in damage up to 10% of insured sum max 1,500€ with 150€ deductible per incident. Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

Drivers under 23 years of age (calculated from 1 January of birth year) or drivers who obtained their licence for the first time within the 12 months preceding the accident, without a declared additional premium at policy inception, result in: (a) for MTPL: the insurer bears no liability unless the insured pays an immediate surcharge of 30% of annual premium up to 2,000€; (b) for own-damage (Μικτή): the insurer pays only 50% of the damage after the agreed deductible, with no option to cover 100% even with an additional premium. When both conditions (under-23 AND new licence) apply simultaneously, only the under-23 surcharge rules apply.

Repair network requirements

Repairs are preferably conducted at the insurer's authorized cooperative workshops in Athens and Thessaloniki; repairs can be completed without the insured paying any amount out of pocket at these workshops. When using authorized workshops, the insurer coordinates the claim and workshop selection. Using non-authorized workshops may result in the insurer exercising the right to pay cash compensation instead. Pre-repair inspection by the insurer's expert is mandatory; any repair before the insurer's expert assessment is prohibited and constitutes a breach of policyholder obligations.

Territorial scope

All supplementary/optional casco coverages (own damage, fire, theft, natural perils, glass, malicious damage, roadside assistance) apply exclusively within Greek territory. MTPL compulsory liability coverage extends to EU/EEA member states and countries whose National Insurance Bureaux are party to the Unified Agreement, via international insurance certificate (Green Card). Vehicles exiting Greek territory for non-EEA countries must carry an international insurance certificate valid in those countries.

Anti-theft requirements

For total theft claims, the insured must immediately report the theft to police and the insurer in writing; all vehicle keys must be delivered to the insurer before settlement payment; notarized irrevocable power of attorney authorizing the insurer to sell the recovered vehicle is required; tax authority certificates (ΔΟΥ) confirming no outstanding road tax and that the vehicle was declared in prior income tax returns must be provided. For partial theft, a police complaint copy must be submitted.

Claim notification deadline

For supplementary coverages (optional/casco): the insured must notify the insurer within 3 working days of the loss event; failure to do so obligates the insured to pay compensation. For MTPL claims: written notification immediately and no later than 8 working days from becoming aware of the loss event. For personal accident coverage: written notification within 3 working days. All notifications must be sent to the insurer's head office in Athens. Claims contact: 10234 or 2107470001 (24h) or via www.atlantiki.gr or damage department tel. 2107454000.

Deductible rules

Own-damage (Μικτή - Atlantic Max only): selectable deductibles of 150€, 300€, 450€, 600€ or 900€ per accident; insurer liable for damages exceeding the chosen deductible. Hailstorm: 300€ deductible per accident (Atlantic Plus). Vandalism/malicious damage: 150€ deductible per incident (Atlantic Plus and Atlantic Max). Attempted break-in damage under partial theft: 150€ deductible per incident, max reimbursement 10% of insured sum up to 1,500€. Higher deductibles generally result in lower premiums.
