Coverage limits
Own Damage – Collision/Impact/Overturn
Optional
Covers damage to the insured vehicle caused exclusively by collision, impact, derailment, overturn, or fall (κατάπτωση). Available only in the Full Casco package tier. The sum insured (stated on the policy schedule) is the maximum aggregate limit per policy period, inclusive of all expenses. Compensation is based on the vehicle's current market value at time of loss accounting for depreciation. A deductible (απαλλαγή) as agreed and stated on the policy schedule applies; repairs at an authorised dealer carry a 50% deductible reduction for the learner-driver cover variant. Excludes: damage caused by intentional acts of the insured/driver, participation in races/exhibitions, terrorist acts, natural perils (unless separately covered), damage while vehicle is on a ferry, damage from gas/liquid leaks, damage to tyres alone, damage due to poor maintenance, damage while vehicle is operated outside roads open to traffic. Airbag damage and glass damage are covered only if the respective special covers (ΘΡΑΥΣΗ ΑΕΡΟΣΑΚΩΝ / ΘΡΑΥΣΗ ΚΡΥΣΤΑΛΛΩΝ) are included in the policy.
Total Loss Settlement
Optional
There is no separately named 'total loss' peril in the policy; settlement in the event of total loss (ολοσχερής καταστροφή) is governed by the general indemnity calculation rules under K03 Art. 5: compensation is based on the vehicle's current market value at the time of the event taking into account wear and depreciation, capped at the sum insured. In the event of total loss and vehicle write-off/withdrawal, glass coverage is not provided (repair is impossible). The insurer may, in lieu of cash payment, replace the vehicle with one of equal value. The proportionality rule (αναλογικός κανόνας / υπασφάλιση) applies if the sum insured is less than the vehicle's actual value.
Partial Loss / Repair
Optional
Where the covered damage does not result in total loss, the insurer indemnifies the cost of repair of the damaged parts, calculated at the vehicle's market value at time of loss accounting for depreciation. In cases of partial loss, if the insured sum was calculated without customs duties, the insurer may deduct the pro-rata customs portion from the parts repair claim. The insured must make the vehicle available for inspection within 5 working days of insurer's request before carrying out any repairs. The sum insured on the policy schedule is the aggregate annual maximum across all partial and total losses; after each claim payment, the remaining sum is reduced accordingly.
Theft (Total and Partial) and Theft-Attempt Damage
Optional
Three distinct sub-coverages available across tiers. (1) Total Theft (Ολική Κλοπή – K03 Γ): covers the actual market value of the vehicle on the day of loss. Obligation to pay arises only after 90 days from filing a criminal complaint, provided the vehicle has not been recovered. The insured must report immediately to the police. Available in Mini Casco, Midi Casco and Full Casco. (2) Partial Theft (Μερική Κλοπή – K03 Δ): covers only the damage caused by removal of parts/accessories firmly attached to the vehicle body and necessary for its operation, during a theft. Available in Mini Casco, Midi Casco and Full Casco. (3) Theft-Attempt Damage (Ζημίες κατά Απόπειρα Κλοπής – K03 Ε): covers damage caused to the insured vehicle during an attempted total or partial theft; deductible as agreed applies. Available in Midi Casco and Full Casco. Sum insured is the aggregate annual maximum per coverage type; reduced automatically after each claim. If the vehicle is recovered before payment, insurer may refuse payment unless title is transferred to the insurer.
Glass Breakage (Windscreen, Windows, Skylights)
Optional
Covers damage caused by breakage or crack from any external cause to the following glass surfaces only: windscreen (παρμπρίζ), side windows (τζάμια παραθύρων) and quarter-lights (φινιστρίνια). Excluded: sunroof/panoramic roof, windscreen sensors, headlights, and mirrors. Coverage is conditional on its inclusion in the policy's listed insured risks and on payment of premiums. In the event of a claim, the insured must notify the insurer immediately and must not repair/replace before inspection. The insurer replaces at its own or a contracted garage at no direct cost; if a non-contracted garage is used, the insurer pays the replacement cost subject to the agreed deductible. The sum insured stated in the policy is the aggregate annual maximum. Cover is not provided in the event of total vehicle destruction/write-off. Available in Mini Casco, Midi Casco and Full Casco. Third-party liability claims for glass damage: if a third party is liable, coverage is not paid from this sub-cover (the insurer is subrogated upon payment).
Own Damage from Natural Perils (Θεομηνίες)
Optional
Covers damage to the insured vehicle caused directly or indirectly by flood (πλημμύρα), typhoon, storm (λαίλαπα), windstorm (ανεμοθύελλα), volcanic eruption, or other natural disturbance (φυσική διαταραχή). Expressly excluded: mechanical damage caused by frost/freezing (παγετός). A deductible as agreed and stated on the policy schedule applies (from the damage amount). Available in Midi Casco and Full Casco; not included in Mini Casco. Sum insured is the aggregate annual maximum; reduced automatically after each claim.
Own Damage from Malicious Acts (Κακόβουλη Βλάβη)
Optional
Covers damage to the insured vehicle caused intentionally by malicious acts of third parties (κακόβουλες πράξεις τρίτων). Expressly excluded: damage caused during theft of the insured vehicle (which requires the separate theft-attempt damage cover). A deductible as agreed and stated on the policy schedule applies. Available in Midi Casco and Full Casco; not included in Mini Casco. The Bonus-Malus category increases by 2 categories in case of a claim under this cover. Sum insured is aggregate annual maximum.
Roadside Assistance (Οδική Βοήθεια – K18)
Optional
24/7 roadside assistance available 365 days/year commencing 48 hours after policy inception (can be waived by special written agreement with immediate effect). Coverage areas: (a) Greece only, or (b) Greece and Europe (including Balkans and European Turkey, excluding former USSR/Russia) depending on variant selected; for electric vehicles coverage is Greece only. Eligible vehicles: passenger cars (EIX), taxis, motorcycles over 51cc, light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes (unladen) with single rear axle, total length ≤5,500mm, width ≤2,050mm, wheelbase ≤3.50m. Services include: on-site mobile workshop repair; if unrepairable on-site, towing to nearest preferred garage within the regional unit (nomos); for major damage (accident, fire, engine/gearbox/electronics destruction): within Greece towing to insured's declared home city within 5 working days; from Europe, repatriation to insured's home city within 15 working days (available from day 8 of cover for mechanical breakdowns in Greece, day 15 for abroad). Insured's travel costs: up to €75 for public transport/hotel if same-day return is impossible (up to €150 from abroad). Roadside assistance also includes Accident Management (Φροντίδα Ατυχήματος – B.1): 24/7 accident recording, documentation, photography, statement-taking, exclusively in Greece, within 5 working days. Maximum 5 calls per policy year; further assistance after 5 calls requires vehicle inspection. Vehicles over 30 years old require prior insurer inspection; electric vehicles accepted up to 8 years old or 100,000 km. Does not cover: fuel delivery, lost keys, ferry costs, tolls charged by closed motorway operators, vehicles not bearing Greek registration plates, towing from inaccessible locations (rivers, lakes, sea, cliffs). Roadside assistance for non-Greek residents insured in Greece does not apply abroad.
Replacement Vehicle
Excluded
No replacement vehicle (courtesy car) coverage is offered under any casco tier. The K16 income-loss cover relates exclusively to the learner-driver examination scenario (N. 4599/2019) and compensates the vehicle owner for loss of income during repair downtime, not for a replacement vehicle.
Driver Personal Accident (K01 – Death and Permanent Total Disability from Road Accident)
Optional
Covers two events: (1) Death of the driver of the insured vehicle resulting from a road accident, occurring while the driver is boarding, travelling in, or alighting from the vehicle during its operation; payable to legal heirs within 1 year of the accident. (2) Permanent Total Disability of the driver from a road accident, certified as definitive by competent authority within 1 year of the accident; covers: total permanent loss of function of both eyes or two limbs (various combinations), incurable mental illness rendering the person incapable of any work, or total paralysis. If both death and PTD arise from the same accident, only one benefit is paid. Accident must originate from an external, accidental, visible, sudden cause entirely independent of the driver's will. The sum insured (maximum per event) is stated on the policy schedule. Coverage is limited to Greek territory during journeys using the insured vehicle. Excluded: illness/disease, pre-existing conditions, natural disasters causing mass casualties, atomic energy effects, war/civil war/riots/strikes, intentional acts of the policyholder/insured, participation in races/exhibitions, driving without valid licence, driving under alcohol/drugs influence exceeding legal limits, transporting overloaded passengers/cargo, use different from registration, vehicle being pushed/towed.
Key conditions
Driver age and experience limit
An additional premium surcharge (επασφάλιστρο) of 60% (amateur licence) or 30% (professional licence) applies if the vehicle is driven by a driver under 23 years of age whose age was not declared at policy inception and the applicable surcharge not paid. Similarly, a 60% surcharge applies for drivers who obtained their licence within the 12 months prior to the accident date. If the surcharge is not paid in advance and an accident occurs, the insurer bears no liability unless the insured immediately pays the surcharge via an endorsement (Πρόσθετη Πράξη). Minimum surcharge for new driver: €14.67 plus applicable taxes/fees.
Repair network requirements
The insurer must authorise repair estimates before repairs commence. For own-damage and airbag claims, the insured must not carry out any repair or replacement before the insurer's inspector examines the vehicle; the insurer must conduct the inspection within 5 working days of the vehicle being made available. The insurer coordinates glass replacement at its own garages or contracted partners at no cost to the insured; if the insured uses a non-contracted garage, the agreed deductible applies. The insurer may choose to repair, replace with an equivalent vehicle, or pay cash indemnity.
Territorial scope
Casco (K03) coverages apply exclusively within the Greek territory (Article 2 of K03 Special Terms). Roadside Assistance (K18) extends to Europe (including Balkan countries and European Turkey, excluding all countries from the former Soviet Union including Russia) if the 'Roadside Assistance within Greece and Europe' variant is selected; for electric vehicles, coverage is Greece only. MTPL (K10) covers Greece, EU member states, and countries whose National Insurance Bureaux signed the 1991 Multilateral Guarantee Agreement.
Anti-theft requirements
No specific anti-theft device requirement is stated as a condition of theft coverage in the policy terms. However, the insurer may refuse to accept a risk based on the vehicle's characteristics and may adjust acceptance conditions at its discretion. The insured must immediately report any theft to the police and file a criminal complaint; the payment obligation for total theft arises only after 90 days from the complaint filing date if the vehicle has not been recovered.
Claim notification deadline
For all casco (K03) damage claims: the insured must notify the insurer in writing within 8 working days of becoming aware of the loss event (Article 6.1 K03 Special Terms). For glass breakage (K03 ΣΤα): the insured must notify the insurer immediately and must not repair/replace before inspection. For fire and theft claims (K03 Art. 6): same 8-day written notification obligation applies. For road assistance claims: contact the Intersalonica Coordination Centre immediately. For driver accident (K01): immediate written notice for death; 8 working days for any other covered accident. Failure to comply with notification obligations entitles the insurer to seek compensation for resulting damages.
Deductible rules
Deductibles (απαλλαγές) apply per-claim for own damage (collision/overturn), natural perils, malicious acts, theft-attempt damage, airbag damage, and glass damage (if non-contracted garage). The specific deductible amount for each coverage is stated on the first page of the policy schedule and varies by coverage type; it is not fixed in the general terms. For own-damage of the vehicle from the learner-driver exam scenario (K03 ΙΣΤ / N. 4599/2019), the deductible is reduced by 50% when an authorised garage is used. For glass breakage: if the insurer's own or contracted garage is used, no deductible applies; if a non-contracted garage is used, the agreed deductible as stated in the policy schedule applies (as from ΙΖ edition replacing the fixed €200 of the ΙΕ edition). For airbag replacement at non-contracted garages: deductible of €200 applies as stated in the policy. For medical repatriation under K18: maximum insurer liability is €1,500 per incident.
