Coverage limits

Own Damage (Comprehensive Insurance)

Covered

Covers material damage to the insured vehicle resulting from collision, impact, overturning, and other events including malicious acts. The insured sum is agreed at policy inception; total loss is paid at market value on the date of the event. Young drivers (under 23 or licence held less than 1 year) who have not paid the applicable additional premium at policy inception receive only 50% of the indemnity for collision-type damage.

Total Loss

Covered

Covered under the comprehensive own-damage clause. In the event of total loss (damage cost exceeding a threshold making repair uneconomical), the insurer pays the market (commercial) value of the vehicle at the date of the loss. Covered perils include collision, impact, overturning, and malicious acts.

Partial Loss / Partial Damage

Covered

Covered under the comprehensive own-damage clause. Partial damage to the insured vehicle from collision, impact, overturning, or malicious acts is indemnified up to the cost of repair, within the insured sum.

Theft and Robbery

Covered

Total theft coverage is based on the commercial (market) value of the vehicle on the date of theft. Partial theft covers components that are essential for the vehicle's movement and operation and are firmly attached to it. Also covers material damage to the vehicle caused during an attempted theft or removal of components, and covers theft of the factory-fitted audio system.

Glass / Crystal Breakage (No Deductible)

Covered

Full coverage for glass/crystal breakage (windshield, rear window, side windows) with zero deductible. Coverage was extended to also include sensors (mechanisms and calibration/parameterisation) on windows at no additional premium. Replacement and repair is carried out through Ydrogios' network of specialised glass-replacement partners.

Natural Perils / Natural Phenomena

Optional

Optional coverage for material damage to the insured vehicle caused directly by natural phenomena such as storm, hurricane, flood, earthquake, subsidence, snow, and hail. Listed as an optional add-on in the Auto Premium programme.

Malicious Acts / Vandalism

Covered

Coverage against deliberate harmful acts (malicious acts / vandalism) causing damage to the insured vehicle is included as a core element of the Auto Premium comprehensive package alongside own-damage coverage.

Roadside and Travel Assistance

Optional

Optional add-on providing comprehensive roadside and travel assistance services 24/7, 365 days a year, throughout Europe and Mediterranean-bordering countries, via MAPFRE ASISTENCIA – EUROSOS ASSISTANCE. Covers breakdown and accident situations: on-site vehicle repair if possible, or towing to a garage of the insured's choice; transfer of insured passengers from the scene; hotel accommodation expenses; assistance in case of fuel shortage, lost keys, or vehicle theft.

Replacement Vehicle

Optional

Optional coverage providing a replacement vehicle of up to 1400cc engine displacement for the duration of repairs to the insured vehicle, up to a maximum of 30 days for cases of fire and partial theft, and up to 60 days for total theft.

Driver Personal Accident

Covered

Basic personal accident coverage for the driver is included in the Auto Premium product. It covers death and permanent total disability resulting from a traffic accident while driving or boarding/alighting the vehicle, plus actual medical treatment expenses (hospital, surgical, pharmaceutical or other therapeutic care) up to 4% of the insured sum. The selectable capital (coverage limit) ranges from €10,000 to €40,000 depending on the chosen sum insured. An enhanced 24/7/365 personal accident add-on is available optionally (replacing the basic cover) and additionally covers permanent partial disability, daily hospital and post-hospital allowances, and emergency air transport for accident and illness.

Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

Drivers under 23 years of age (age calculated as of 1 January of the birth year) or drivers who obtained their licence for the first time within the 12 months prior to the accident date, and for whom the applicable additional premium was not paid at policy inception, will receive only 50% of the indemnity for collision, impact, overturning, and similar damage. The insured cannot claim the full amount even by subsequently offering an additional premium, unless the additional premium is paid by endorsement immediately after declaring the accident (at 30% of the company's annual premium for that year).

Repair network requirements

The insured may use Ydrogios' authorised partner repair network (Vehicle Repair Care Service) for claims processing and vehicle repairs, which provides coordinated access to qualified garages. Use of the partner network is available and recommended but not exclusively mandatory; the insured may also direct repairs to a garage of their choice. Glass replacement is carried out through Ydrogios' specialised glass-partner network with no deductible applied.

Territorial scope

Core casco coverage (own damage, theft, vandalism, glass) applies within Greek territory. Optional coverages also apply within Greek territory only. Roadside and travel assistance (if taken as optional add-on) extends to all European countries and Mediterranean-bordering countries. Vehicles habitually parked in Greece that travel abroad must carry a valid international insurance certificate (green card) for at least the EU/EEA member states.

Anti-theft requirements

No specific anti-theft device requirement is stated on the product page for standard theft coverage eligibility. Partial theft covers only components that are essential for the vehicle's operation and are firmly attached to it; audio systems are covered only if factory-installed.

Claim notification deadline

In the event of damage or an accident, the policyholder and/or insured must notify the company in writing, immediately without culpable delay and at the latest within eight (8) working days from the date on which the loss came to their knowledge (per EO61 Motor Insurance Terms, March 2024, Article 10.1).

Deductible rules

Glass/crystal breakage coverage is provided with zero deductible (χωρίς απαλλαγή) as a highlighted feature of the Auto Premium product. For own-damage (comprehensive) claims, no specific deductible percentage is published on the product page; deductible terms are governed by the General and Special Conditions of the insurance contract. Young drivers (under 23 or licence < 1 year without additional premium) are subject to a 50% indemnity reduction rather than a standard deductible.
