Direct payment

Claims are handled directly by Apeiron Insurance Project on behalf of Zavarovalnica Triglav d.d. The insured must notify the company in writing within 8 working days of the loss event. A 24/7 accident assistance hotline (213 090 4343) is available. Apeiron coordinates assessment and settlement; the insured must cooperate with company representatives and must not admit liability or reach any settlement without the company's written consent.

Geographic scope

Greece (nationwide)

Mandatory MTPL coverage is valid in Greece, all EU/EEA member states, and other countries whose National Insurance Bureaux are party to the Multilateral Guarantee Agreement (Green Card system). Optional coverages apply within Greece only, unless otherwise specified.

Unique selling points

  • Bonus-Malus protection is included as a standard benefit in the MTPL policy, preventing rating deterioration even after two at-fault claims.
  • Coverage for damages caused by uninsured vehicles is included in the Standard and Advance tiers as a standard benefit, not an optional add-on.
  • Accident scene management ('Φροντίδα Ατυχήματος') — including on-site incident recording and vehicle towing from the accident scene — is included in the base policy at no additional charge.
  • The product is underwritten by Zavarovalnica Triglav d.d. (rated A stable by international agencies), reinsured by Munich Re, providing strong financial security for policyholders.
  • Four distinct coverage tiers (Standard, Advance, Value, Full) allow policyholders to tailor protection from basic MTPL up to comprehensive own-damage cover, all within the same insurer and product family.

Key conditions

Territorial scope

Mandatory MTPL coverage is valid in Greece, all EU and EEA member states, and other countries whose National Insurance Bureaux are signatories to the Multilateral Guarantee Agreement (Green Card system, signed 15 March 1991). Optional coverages are valid within Greece only, unless a specific policy clause states otherwise.

Green card rules

The Green Card (International Motor Insurance Certificate) is issued under the Multilateral Guarantee Agreement. The policy covers all Green Card territories listed on the certificate. Coverage under the green card system mirrors the mandatory MTPL limits applicable in each visited country. The insured must carry the Green Card when travelling abroad within covered territories.

Driver restrictions

No coverage is provided when: (a) the driver does not hold a valid driving licence as required by law; (b) the driver is under the influence of alcohol, toxic substances, narcotics, or medication taken without prescription or in excessive dosage; (c) the vehicle is used for a purpose different from that stated in the registration certificate; (d) the vehicle participates in official or unofficial races, speed competitions, demonstrations, or related test drives; (e) damage results from the gross negligence or wilful act of the policyholder, insured, or driver.

Claim notification deadline

The insured must notify the company in writing, immediately and no later than eight (8) working days from the date they became aware of the loss event. The insured must also cooperate fully with company representatives and loss adjusters, and must not admit liability, agree to any settlement, or take any action implying acceptance of the claim without the company's prior written consent.

Bonus-malus rules

Bonus-Malus protection is included as a standard benefit in the Standard and Advance tiers: in the event of fault in two claims during the policy period, the insured's Bonus-Malus rating is protected and does not deteriorate. Standard Greek Bonus-Malus regulations otherwise apply for rating purposes.
