Key conditions

Territorial scope

Coverage applies primarily in Greece. Civil liability coverage extends to EU member states and EEA countries. The Green Card (International Insurance Certificate) facilitates travel abroad and is valid for the policy duration. Supplementary coverages also extend to EU/EEA countries.

Green card rules

The Green Card (International Insurance Certificate) is an internationally recognised document confirming MTPL coverage abroad. It covers civil liability in EU/EEA member states and other countries whose National Motor Insurers' Bureaux are part of the Green Card system. Issued on request.

Driver restrictions

Coverage applies only when the insured vehicle is driven with a valid driving licence. Agricultural passenger vehicles (αγροτικά Ι.Χ.) are explicitly excluded from coverage. Additional premiums or restrictions may apply for named drivers outside the main insured.

Claim notification deadline

The policyholder must report claims promptly to the Prime Insurance Claims Department (Tel. 212 212 7817, Fax 212 212 7895, email: claims@primeins.gr). Failure to notify promptly may reduce or void the insurer's liability under standard Greek insurance law (Law 2496/1997). 24-hour accident care coordination is available via Europ Assistance at 212 212 7999.

Bonus-malus rules

Greece does not operate a mandatory standardised bonus-malus system. Each insurer applies its own risk assessment and pricing model. Premium adjustments at renewal are based on the individual insurer's claims history criteria, driver profile, vehicle type, and other factors.
