Territorial scope
Compulsory MTPL coverage is valid in Greece, all EU/EEA member states, and other countries whose National Insurance Bureaux are bound by Part III of the Consolidated Agreement and have signed the Multilateral Guarantee Agreement of 15 March 1991 (Green Card countries). Optional coverages are valid in Greece only, unless otherwise stated in the policy conditions.
Green card rules
The policy operates as a Green Card for travel in countries that are signatories to the Multilateral Guarantee Agreement. The compulsory liability cover follows the minimum requirements of each visited country. The Green Card must be carried during travel abroad.
Driver restrictions
Coverage is not provided when the driver does not hold the required valid driving licence as prescribed by law. Coverage is also not provided when the driver is under the influence of alcohol or toxic substances in violation of the Highway Code. Coverage is excluded when the vehicle is used for a purpose different from that specified in the vehicle registration certificate, or when the vehicle participates in exhibitions, parades, official or unofficial races, speed or skill competitions, or related test runs.
Claim notification deadline
The insured must notify the Company in writing, immediately and no later than eight (8) working days from the date they became aware of the loss event. Changes in risk must be reported within 8 calendar days of becoming known.
Bonus-malus rules
Bonus-Malus protection is included in the Standard/Advance packages: in the event of fault in two claims, the policyholder's bonus-malus class is protected. The bonus-malus system is applied in accordance with applicable Greek insurance regulation.
