Direct payment

Allianz Assistance Ireland guarantees direct payment to hospitals and doctors abroad via its 24-hour emergency medical assistance service. As stated in the Irish policy document, if you have a valid claim, they will contact hospitals or doctors abroad and guarantee to pay their fees.

Geographic scope

Cover area is selected by the customer at purchase, ranging from Europe-only to Worldwide (with or without USA/Canada).

Cover only applies to the geographic area selected and confirmed on the policy certificate; travel to a country not selected and confirmed is not covered.

Unique selling points

  • Comprehensive emergency medical cover up to €10 million on Gold-level cover, including medical repatriation, versus €1 million on Bronze.
  • Three selectable cover levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold) let customers choose claim limits that best match their needs and budget.
  • Annual multi-trip customers are covered as soon as the policy is purchased, with no obligation to notify the insurer of individual travel dates.
  • Cancellation cover start date can be deferred by up to 31 days if immediate cover is not required.
  • 24/7 Assistance Department support for medical emergencies encountered while travelling abroad.
