Regulatory updates
In 2025 the Bank of Lithuania conducted a targeted inspection of Compensa Life Vienna Insurance Group SE Lithuanian Branch covering 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2024. The regulator found that the company failed to meet product oversight and governance requirements for its guaranteed-interest life insurance product, improperly analysed data, and that some investment life insurance products sold did not match client needs due to inadequate suitability assessment. The Bank of Lithuania imposed a EUR 250,000 fine and concluded an administrative settlement. The company committed to improving product value for customers, conducting an internal product oversight audit, and applying individual discounts to affected clients by 31 May 2026. In a separate earlier supervisory action the Bank of Lithuania noted that Compensa Life was only partially complying with its supervisory position on investment life insurance management fee pass-through to clients.
