Regulatory updates
Swiss Re Europe S.A. published its Solvency and Financial Condition Report (SFCR) for year-end 2025, confirming continued authorisation by the Luxembourg Finance Minister to conduct all types of reinsurance business and ongoing supervision by the CAA. The solvency ratio as at 31 December 2025 was 202% (down from 222% in 2024), with the company using a CAA-approved internal model for SCR calculation under Solvency II. The company continues to monitor the Solvency II review (amended Delegated Acts published in the EU Official Journal on 18 February 2026, effective 29 January 2027), the Insurance Recovery and Resolution Directive (IRRD), and sustainability-related regulatory developments. DORA (EU Regulation 2022/2554) became applicable from 17 January 2025 to all Luxembourg-licensed insurers and reinsurers, requiring formal ICT risk management frameworks. Swiss Re International SE's internal model also remains approved by the CAA for Solvency II SCR calculation. Annick Felten has served as General Manager of both Swiss Re International SE and Swiss Re Europe S.A. since April 2024.
