For personal accident benefits, payment is made directly to the injured person or their legal representative.

Geographic scope

MT

Primary cover in Malta (Republic of Malta including recognised sea passages). Third party liability minimum cover extended to all EU member states plus Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Andorra, San Marino, Vatican City, Monaco, Serbia, Bosnia Herzegovina and Montenegro. Own damage cover extended to designated states for up to 30 days per policy period with one working day prior notice.

  • New car replacement guarantee: if a brand-new car is written off or stolen and not recovered within 12 months of purchase, GasanMamo replaces it with a new car of the same make and specification or pays up to 110% of the declared value.
  • Uninsured Driver Promise: if hit by an uninsured driver while not at fault, the policyholder keeps their full no claim discount and receives a full refund of any excess paid.
  • Dedicated EV coverage enhancements including up to €20,000 for drive battery consequential damage from short circuits or animal bites, and up to €650 for charging cables and wall boxes, all built into the standard Comprehensive product.

Coverage limits

Covered

Covers accidental loss or damage to the insured car, its accessories and spare parts. GasanMamo may pay for repair, replace the car, or pay cash for the loss or damage. The maximum payable is the market value of the car not exceeding the declared sum insured. Total Loss / Constructive Total Loss Settlement

Covered

In the event of a total loss (vehicle destroyed beyond repair as determined by an approved motor surveyor) or constructive total loss (repair cost equals or exceeds the lower of sum insured or market value), GasanMamo pays the pre-accident market value or the declared sum insured, whichever is lower. New car concession: if within 12 months of first purchase by the policyholder or spouse the repair cost exceeds 60% of original list price (incl. registration tax and VAT) or the car is stolen and not recovered, GasanMamo will replace the car with a new car of the same make and specification or pay up to 110% of the declared vehicle value.

Partial Loss – Repair of Accidental Damage

Covered

Where the car is damaged but not a total or constructive total loss, GasanMamo pays reasonable repair costs up to the market value or declared sum insured. Removal and protection costs up to €350 plus taxi up to €50 are also covered. Minor repairs up to €250 may be authorised by the policyholder without prior approval, subject to sending an estimate without delay.
