Direct payment

In the ASO, Warsztat Plus and Warsztat variants, compensation is settled directly between the insurer and the workshop on the basis of invoices, with cashless repair. In the Kosztorys variants, the compensation amount is calculated by estimate and paid directly to the insured's bank account.

Geographic scope

Poland and European countries

Coverage for accidents and theft across Poland and all European countries as listed in the OWU (excluding theft in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova). Damage abroad must generally be repaired in Poland.

Unique selling points

  • All-risk formula covering all sudden and unforeseen events including collision, theft, natural perils and vandalism – no need to identify the specific cause of damage.
  • No integral deductible: claims of any amount, including minor scratches and dents, are accepted and processed without a minimum threshold.
  • Guaranteed Sum Insurance (GSU+) automatically maintains the vehicle's insured value throughout the year for cars up to 3 years old bought in Polish dealerships in the ASO variant – at no extra premium.
  • Coverage extended to vehicles imported from the USA or Canada, an eligibility that many competitors exclude.
  • 15% online purchase discount and instant policy issuance via the self-service calculator on pevno.pl.

Coverage limits

Own Damage (Partial Loss)

Covered

Covers damage to the vehicle caused by any sudden and unforeseen event including collision, weather, fire, vandalism or other external causes. Compensation capped at the insured sum (current vehicle value as at the date of loss, or fixed GSU+ value if elected). Settlement method depends on chosen variant: ASO uses OEM parts at ASO rates; Warsztat Plus/Warsztat uses OEM or equivalent parts at non-ASO rates; Kosztorys variants use equivalent-part estimates at PLN 65/hr labour rate. No integral deductible applies; minor claims are accepted.

Total Loss

Covered

A total loss occurs when the estimated repair cost exceeds 70% of the vehicle value at the date of loss (not exceeding the insured sum stated in the policy, or for GSU+ policies: 70% of the policy value). Compensation = vehicle value before loss minus salvage value. Insurer may condition payment on transfer of vehicle ownership. With GSU+, the payout is the value stated in the policy (or the higher current value up to 110% of the policy value), minus salvage.

Source

Partial Loss

Covered

Damage where estimated repair costs do not exceed 70% of vehicle value. Settled on invoice basis (ASO/Warsztat variants) or estimate basis (Kosztorys variants). Deductible of 500, 1000 or 2000 PLN applies per event. Mandatory 10% deductible applies if driver is under 26 or held licence for less than 3 years. Tyre, exhaust and traction battery damages are subject to depreciation unless the no-depreciation option is selected.

Theft and Robbery

Covered

Covers theft, theft with break-in and robbery of the vehicle. Compensation equals the insured sum on the day of loss, reduced by the applicable deductible (0% or 10% as elected). With GSU+, the payout is the value stated at policy inception (or current value up to 110% of policy value). Payment is contingent on de-registration, title transfer, and return of all keys/devices. Theft is not covered on Russian, Belarusian, Ukrainian or Moldovan territory. Anti-theft devices declared at policy inception must have been activated at time of theft.

Glass Damage (Windscreen Insurance)

Optional

Claims from this module do not affect AC claims history. ADAS calibration costs are included.

Natural Perils

Covered

Covered under the all-risk scope of AC (Chapter I). The OWU defines 'accident' for assistance and luggage purposes to include flood, submersion, atmospheric precipitation, hurricane, hail, lightning strike, avalanche, and landslide. The AC all-risk formula covers all sudden and unforeseen events from external causes, which encompasses natural perils unless explicitly excluded. No sub-limit; covered up to the insured sum.

Vandalism

Covered

Covered under the all-risk AC scope (Chapter I). The OWU accident definition explicitly includes damage caused by third parties and vandalism by third parties, confirming vandalism coverage within the AC all-risk formula. No sub-limit; covered up to the insured sum.

Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

If not otherwise agreed at policy inception, a mandatory 10% deductible of the compensation due applies if the damage is caused by a driver who has not yet reached the age of 26, or who obtained their driving licence less than 3 years before the date of the incident (OWU Chapter I, section 4.6).

Repair network requirements

In the Serwis ASO variant, repairs must be carried out at the authorised service centre (ASO) for the vehicle's brand; the labour rate is capped at the average arithmetic rate of ASO workshops in the province where the vehicle was repaired. In Warsztat Plus and Warsztat variants, repairs are made at non-authorised workshops with labour rates capped at the average arithmetic rate of non-authorised workshops in the province of the insured's residence. In Kosztorys variants, the insured may repair at any workshop or independently; the labour rate used for the estimate is PLN 65 gross/hr. Repairs abroad must generally be repatriated to Poland unless emergency partial repair is needed (up to EUR 2,000 without prior authorisation).

Territorial scope

All-risk AC covers accidents and theft occurring in Poland and all European countries listed in the OWU (Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Spain, Netherlands, Ireland, Iceland, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, North Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Germany, Norway, Poland, Portugal, European part of Russia, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Sweden, European part of Turkey, Ukraine, Vatican, Hungary, Great Britain and Italy). Theft is explicitly not covered in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova.

Anti-theft requirements

Anti-theft devices declared by the insured in the application for insurance must be activated at the time of theft (unless the vehicle was lost as a result of robbery). Failure to activate declared devices, where the failure contributed to the theft, results in the insurer refusing to pay compensation. If keys or opening/starting devices are stolen or lost during the policy period, the insured must replace the locks or change the access codes (evidenced by invoice); failure to do so, if it contributed to the theft, may result in refusal of compensation. The insurer may make conclusion of AC or P-KR insurance conditional on the vehicle having anti-theft devices installed.

Claim notification deadline

Accident: notify insurer without delay, no later than 7 days from the accident. Theft: notify insurer without delay, no later than 2 days from the day the insured learned of the theft. Police and other authorities must be notified without delay, no later than 1 day from learning of: accidents with casualties, crimes, vehicle or accessory theft, theft of keys, or theft of vehicle documents. Claims for glass damage: notify insurer without delay, no later than 2 days from the day the insured learned of the event.

Deductible rules

The insured must specify the deductible at policy inception. For damage or destruction: PLN 500, PLN 1,000 or PLN 2,000 per event. For theft: 0% or 10% of compensation. In addition, a mandatory 10% deductible (of the compensation due) applies if the loss is caused by a driver under 26 years of age or with less than 3 years of licence, unless otherwise agreed. The deductible applies separately to each event. Each compensation payment reduces the sum insured (reducing sum), unless the renewable sum option (additional premium) is selected; the renewable sum does not apply in case of total loss or theft. No integral deductible (franszyza integralna): all claims, including minor ones, are processed.
