Covers liability of any person driving the insured vehicle who causes harm to a third party in connection with the vehicle's movement.
Property Damage Liability (guarantee sum)
Covered
Statutory guarantee sum for property damage liability: equivalent of EUR 1,000,000 per event regardless of the number of injured parties, calculated at the NBP exchange rate on the day the damage was caused. Legal Protection (Ochrona Prawna)
Optional
Legal defence coverage is available as an optional add-on to the Benefia OC policy. It covers costs of legal representation and court proceedings related to the vehicle, including criminal and traffic offence proceedings, and claims arising from accidents. Available via the Pakiet Dealerski bundle or as a standalone rider.
Green Card (Zielona Karta)

The Green Card certificate is provided by Benefia at no additional charge as part of the OC policy. It confirms valid third-party liability insurance and is required when travelling to countries outside the Multilateral Agreement system (Albania, Azerbaijan, Iran, Morocco, Moldova, North Macedonia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine). The standard OC policy covers events in Multilateral Agreement countries without a Green Card; the certificate is needed only for the listed non-member countries. Green Card certificates may be issued for a minimum of 15 days and a maximum of 12 months.

Roadside assistance is available as an optional add-on (Assistance SOS) to the Benefia OC policy, offering 24/7 help in the event of breakdown, accident, or theft. The sum insured is set individually per person. Available as a standalone rider or as part of a vehicle insurance package.
Passenger Accident Insurance (NNW Pasażerów)
Optional
Personal accident insurance for passengers (NNW) is available as an optional add-on to the Benefia OC policy. It covers permanent disability and death of vehicle passengers resulting from a traffic accident. The sum insured is set individually per insured person.
Key conditions
Territorial scope
The OC policy covers events occurring in Poland and, on a basis of reciprocity, in territories of countries whose national bureaux are signatories to the Multilateral Agreement — including EU member states, EFTA states (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland), Andorra, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the United Kingdom. For events in these countries, the insurer is liable up to the guarantee sum prescribed by the law of that country, but not less than the Polish statutory minimum. A Green Card is required for travel to countries outside this system (Albania, Azerbaijan, Iran, Morocco, Moldova, North Macedonia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine).
Green card rules
Benefia issues a Green Card certificate at no additional charge as confirmation that the vehicle holds valid MTPL insurance. The Green Card extends the territorial scope to countries not covered by the Multilateral Agreement system. Certificates may be issued for a minimum of 15 days and a maximum of 12 months. The policyholder is obliged to carry the certificate and present it to inspection authorities upon request when travelling in countries that require it.
Driver restrictions
The OC policy covers liability of any person driving the insured vehicle during the insurance period who causes damage in connection with the vehicle's movement. The insurer may seek recovery from the driver if the damage was caused intentionally, while intoxicated, without required driving licence, or if the driver fled the scene. Persons driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other intoxicants are excluded from coverage where such driving violated applicable law at the place of the event.
Claim notification deadline
In the event of an accident, the policyholder must promptly notify the insurer and cooperate with the claim settlement process. The insurer must provide a claim decision within 30 days of receiving the claim notification; if investigation is not possible within 30 days, within 14 days of clarifying all necessary circumstances, but no later than 90 days from receipt of the notification. For the simplified OC claim path, payment is issued within 5 business days of assessment.
Bonus-malus rules
Benefia applies a bonus-malus system based on the policyholder's claims history, adjusting the OC premium according to the number and type of claims reported. Policyholders with a no-claims history receive discounts; those who have caused claims may face surcharges. An optional No-Claims Discount Protection (Ochrona Utraty Zniżki / OUZ) add-on is available, which preserves the current discount level even if a claim occurs during the policy period. Benefia reports all concluded OC contracts and claims to the UFG (Insurance Guarantee Fund) in accordance with statutory requirements.
