Key conditions
Territorial scope
Coverage applies on the territory of the Republic of Poland and on the territory of states whose national bureaux are signatories of the Multilateral Agreement (Green Card area). For damages caused outside Poland, Partner TUiR is liable up to the guarantee sum applicable in that state, but not less than the Polish statutory minimums.
Green card rules
The standard annual OC pojazdu policy provides international coverage within the Green Card area (countries whose national bureaux are signatories of the Multilateral Agreement). A Green Card certificate evidencing this coverage can be issued. Coverage limits abroad are at least equal to the Polish statutory minimums.
Driver restrictions
The OC policy is attached to the specific vehicle, not to the owner. It covers any person driving the insured vehicle with the owner's knowledge or consent. The insurer (and UFG) may seek recovery from the driver if the damage was caused intentionally, while under the influence of alcohol or narcotics, after unlawfully taking the vehicle, without the required driving licence (except in life-saving situations), or after fleeing the scene.
Claim notification deadline
In the event of an insurance incident, the insured must immediately notify Partner TUiR of the event, provide all necessary explanations, and pass on the information they hold. In cases involving casualties or suspected criminal offences, the police must also be notified without delay.
Bonus-malus rules
Partner TUiR applies a no-claims history (zaświadczenie o przebiegu ubezpieczenia) policy for calculating OC premiums, as documented in its published policy on use of insurance history certificates. Specific bonus-malus scale details are not published on the product page.
Policy specifics
Policy attached to vehicle, not owner
OC insurance is attached to a specific vehicle, not to the owner. This means that when a vehicle is sold, the existing OC policy transfers to the new owner automatically
Mandatory 12-month contract term
OC insurance contracts for motor vehicles in Poland are always concluded for a mandatory 12-month period
Legally mandated coverage limits
Coverage limits for OC motor insurance are set by Polish law and are identical across all insurers: EUR 5,210,000 for personal injuries and EUR 1,050,000 for property damage
