TUZ Ubezpieczenia Insurance and Reinsurance Company Joint-Stock Company
TUZ Ubezpieczenia
TUZ Ubezpieczenia is a motor third-party liability insurance for the Poland market with online purchase and limited assistance availability.
Direct payment
Claims are paid directly to the injured third party. The insured does not receive payment but is relieved of liability. In regress cases, TUZ may seek reimbursement from the driver who caused damage (e.g. under the influence of alcohol, without a licence, or fleeing the scene).
Geographic scope
Poland
Poland and all countries whose national bureaux are signatories to the Multilateral Agreement (EEA countries, Andorra, Serbia, Croatia). For incidents in those countries, TUZ is liable up to the sum guaranteed by the law of the country of incident, but not less than the Polish statutory minimum.
Unique selling points
- One OC claim per policy year does not affect the premium upon renewal with TUZ, providing built-in no-claims protection at no extra cost.
- Full online purchase and instant policy issuance available via the TUZ online OC/AC calculator, without the need to visit a branch.
- 100% Polish capital insurer with a 20-year market track record, operating a nationwide network of agents and multi-agents across Poland.
- Premium can be spread across 12 monthly instalments via the HiPRO system, improving affordability without additional financing costs.
- Bundling OC with AC, NNW, Assistance or Autoszyby in a single package reduces the base OC premium, offering competitive pricing for multi-product customers.

Green Card (International Motor Insurance Certificate)
Optional
Green Card is a separate optional product sold alongside standard MTPL. It provides civil liability coverage for incidents occurring outside Poland in countries that are signatories to the Green Card system (Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Iran, Israel, Morocco, Moldova, North Macedonia, Russia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine). Minimum guaranteed sums: 5,210,000 EUR for bodily injury per event, 1,050,000 EUR for property damage per event. Minimum policy term is 15 days.

Optional
Roadside assistance is a separate optional product (Auto Assistance) that can be purchased alongside MTPL. It is available in four tiers (Basic, Standard, Comfort, VIP) with coverage sums ranging from 12,000 PLN to 50,000 PLN. Auto Assistance requires a concurrent OC or AC policy with TUZ.
Driver accident insurance (NNW)

It is available as a separate optional NNW (Następstwa Nieszczęśliwych Wypadków Kierowcy i Pasażerów) product. Coverage sums range from 10,000 PLN to 100,000 PLN per person. NNW can be bundled with MTPL.
Passenger accident insurance (NNW)

It is available as part of the optional NNW product (Następstwa Nieszczęśliwych Wypadków Kierowcy i Pasażerów Pojazdu Mechanicznego). Coverage sums range from 10,000 PLN to 100,000 PLN per person. NNW can be bundled with MTPL.
Key conditions
Territorial scope
Coverage applies to events on the territory of the Republic of Poland and on the territory of states whose national bureaux are signatories to the Multilateral Agreement (EEA countries, Andorra, Serbia, Croatia). No separate Green Card is required for these countries. TUZ is liable up to the guaranteed sum applicable in the country of the incident, but not less than the Polish statutory minimum (29,876,400 PLN for bodily injury; 6,021,600 PLN for property damage per event).
Green card rules
The standard MTPL policy covers EEA countries, Andorra, Serbia and Croatia without a separate Green Card. For travel to Green Card countries (Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Iran, Israel, Morocco, Moldova, North Macedonia, Russia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine), a separate Green Card (Zielona Karta) product must be purchased. The Green Card certificate must be presented upon request to control authorities outside Poland.
Driver restrictions
No driver-specific restrictions apply under the standard MTPL policy; coverage extends to any person driving the insured vehicle. However, in the event of damage caused by a driver who was intoxicated, drove without a valid licence, entered possession of the vehicle through a crime, or fled the scene, TUZ and the Motor Insurers' Guarantee Fund (UFG) have a right of recourse against that driver for reimbursement of compensation paid.
Claim notification deadline
In the event of an accident, the policyholder must: (1) take all measures to ensure safety at the scene and mitigate damage; (2) notify the police immediately if there are casualties or circumstances suggesting a crime was committed; (3) notify TUZ immediately of the event and provide all necessary information; (4) provide other accident participants with the insurer's identification data. The insured may not, without TUZ's consent, accept liability or make any commitments to claimants. If a lawsuit is filed against the insured, TUZ must be notified immediately.
Bonus-malus rules
TUZ applies a bonus-malus system based on the policyholder's claims history retrieved from the UFG (Motor Insurers' Guarantee Fund) database. No-claims history from previous insurers is recognised. TUZ additionally offers a proprietary 'driver protection' benefit whereby one OC claim does not affect the premium upon renewal of the next contract with TUZ (available as an optional add-on). Specific bonus-malus discount tables are not published in the verified policy documents; individual premium calculation is performed via the online calculator or by an agent.
