N Seguros, S.A. was merged by incorporation into Lusitania, Companhia de Seguros, S.A. following an ASF-approved solvency-driven restructuring initiated by parent Montepio in late 2019, after N Seguros showed insufficient economic viability without a capital reinforcement; the brand N Seguros was retained post-merger as Lusitania's direct-channel brand. More recently, Montepio's leadership has indicated openness to selling a majority stake in Lusitania (and Lusitania Vida) to international investors once past impairments are recovered.
