Companhia de Seguros Allianz Portugal, S.A.
Allianz
Allianz is a motor third-party liability insurance for the Portugal market with online purchase and 24/7 assistance.
Direct payment
Allianz Portugal pays compensation directly to injured third parties even in cases linked to contractual exclusions (e.g. driving under the influence), and subsequently seeks reimbursement of those amounts from the driver responsible.
Geographic scope
Portugal (mainland and islands)
Roadside/travel assistance to the vehicle and occupants is provided in Portugal and the rest of Europe; remaining coverages (including third-party liability) apply in the countries listed on the Green Card / International Motor Insurance Certificate.
Unique selling points
- All optional-style covers — additional liability capital, occupants, travel assistance, and legal protection — are bundled into Allianz Auto's base option at no extra cost, rather than being sold as separate add-ons.
- Third-party liability is extended to a combined €50,000,000 per accident, well above Portugal's statutory minimum of €6.45 million for bodily injury and €1.3 million for property damage.
- 24/7 travel assistance is reachable on a dedicated national line, covering the vehicle and occupants from the policyholder's own doorstep.
- The Green Card / International Motor Insurance Certificate can be downloaded instantly and kept digitally via the myAllianz app, avoiding delays with paper documents.
- Vehicles repaired at Allianz's contracted nationwide workshop network benefit from reduced deductibles compared with non-network repairs.
Coverage limits
Third-party bodily injury liability
€50,000,000

Third-party property damage liability
€50,000,000
Allianz Auto extends the statutory minimum (currently €1,300,000 for property damage per accident) to the same single combined per-accident third-party liability limit of €50,000,000, applicable across the RC Base, RC Mais, DP Base and DP Mais modules.

Passenger accident cover
€15,000
Occupants cover (which includes passengers travelling in the insured vehicle) pays €15,000 for death or permanent disability, plus €1,500 for treatment expenses and €1,500 for funeral expenses; uniform across the RC Base, RC Mais, DP Base and DP Mais modules.
Key conditions
Territorial scope
Travel assistance to the vehicle and occupants is provided in Portugal and the rest of Europe; other coverages, including mandatory third-party liability, extend to the countries listed on the Green Card / International Motor Insurance Certificate.
Green card rules
The Green Card (International Motor Insurance Certificate) proves compulsory liability cover under the multilateral Green Card Convention and lists the countries where the policy is valid; it can be downloaded digitally via the myAllianz app and must always be kept with the vehicle.
Driver restrictions
Certain events are excluded from indemnification, such as accidents occurring while the driver is under the effect of alcohol or drugs, driving without a valid licence, illegal races, or circulation in restricted zones; in these cases Allianz Portugal is not obliged to pay compensation to the policyholder, although it may still compensate third parties and later seek reimbursement from the driver.
Claim notification deadline
The policyholder must notify Allianz of an accident within a maximum of 8 days from the date it occurred or was discovered, via the e-SEGURNET portal, eCliente, email to sinistro.auto@allianz.pt, or through an Allianz mediator.
Bonus-malus rules
The insurance cost can increase according to the number of claims registered on the policy and the renewal policy in force at the time; any new premium is communicated to the policyholder in advance, while claim-free drivers benefit from discounts.
