Axeria IARD operates in Romania under Freedom of Establishment (FoE) as a branch of the French parent company, notified and authorized by ACPR (France) and ASF (Romania). In September 2026, ASF carried out its first-ever physical conduct inspection of a foreign FoE branch at Axeria's Bucharest office, focused on consumer-protection and Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) compliance, while prudential supervision (solvency, technical reserves) remains with ACPR in France. As of mid-2026, Axeria Iard ranked 3rd in the Romanian MTPL market with an 11.79% share by gross written premiums, after Groupama and Allianz-Țiriac; for full-year 2025 it held about 10.7% of the RCA market with roughly 1.2 billion lei in gross written premiums. In 2025, ASF restricted Axeria's activity for three months starting 1 July 2025, and subsequently barred the branch from underwriting new insurance contracts in Romania from 1 October 2025. The branch's own complaints register shows 739 total complaints registered in 2025 (88 resolved favorably, 650 unfavorably) and 555 complaints in the year to July 2026; industry-wide reporting for the first eight months of 2026 placed Axeria among the insurers with the most complaints filed with ASF (613–867 depending on the reporting window), with 149 resolved favorably. The Bucharest branch relocated its registered office, effective 31 March 2025, to Str. Gheorghe Țițeica 212-214 (Floreasca), Sector 2, Bucharest (Ethos House building).
