Interamerican Hellenic Insurance Company S.A. Athens – Bucharest Branch (Anytime Romania)
Anytime
Anytime is a motor third-party liability insurance for the Romania market with online purchase and limited assistance availability.
Direct payment
Anytime (Interamerican) pays third-party claimants directly, within 10 days of accepting the compensation offer or a final court ruling. The insurer is obligated to provide a justified compensation offer or notify refusal within 30 days of receiving the claim. Delays incur penalties of 0.2% per day on the owed amount. In cases with bodily injuries or moral damages in litigation, penalties are set by the court.
Geographic scope
Romania and internationally per Green Card / EU Motor Insurance Directive
Covers accidents on the territory of Romania, EU member states, EEA states, Switzerland, territories between two EU member states where no national bureau exists, and states whose national bureaux are signatories to the multilateral agreement (Green Card system).

Coverage limits
Bodily injury and death liability (including moral damages)
Covered
Covers bodily injury, death, and moral damages caused to third parties per accident, up to 6,070,000 EUR equivalent in RON, regardless of the number of injured persons. Limit is set by Romanian Law 132/2017. If the accident occurs in a state with higher limits, those limits apply subject to specific conditions.
Property damage liability
Covered
Covers material damages caused to third parties per accident, up to 1,220,000 EUR equivalent in RON, regardless of the number of injured persons. Includes costs for restoring the damaged vehicle to its pre-accident state, loss of use, transport costs for an immobilized vehicle, and damages caused by vehicle equipment or cargo spillage. Limit set by Romanian Law 132/2017.
Legal costs and alternative dispute resolution costs
Covered
Court costs or alternative dispute resolution costs are covered where the outcome is favorable to the injured party, as part of the covered damages under the RCA policy per Romanian Law 132/2017. No separate coverage limit is stated; covered within the overall liability limits.
Green Card (international coverage certificate)
Covered
The RCA policy provides coverage in EU member states, EEA states, Switzerland, and states whose national motor bureaux are signatories to the multilateral Green Card agreement. The Green Card is issued together with the RCA policy and serves as proof of insurance abroad. Limits applied are those of the country of accident if higher than Romanian minimums.
24/7 roadside assistance (RCA Plus only)
Conditional
Included only in the RCA Plus tier. Provides 24/7 emergency roadside assistance across Romania through A24 Assistance, a network of over 600 partners nationwide. Includes telephonic support and intervention for roadside incidents. Not included in the standard RCA tier.
Driver accident cover (own damages/injuries of the at-fault driver)
Excluded
The at-fault driver's own bodily injuries and property damages are explicitly excluded under Romanian RCA law and the Anytime policy. The RCA policy covers damages caused to third parties, not the insured driver's own losses. The at-fault driver who is also injured is not compensated under RCA for their own injuries.
Passenger accident cover
Covered
Passengers in the insured vehicle are covered for bodily injury and death, even when the policyholder is at fault for the accident, subject to certain conditions. Coverage is within the overall bodily injury limit of 6,070,000 EUR per accident. Passengers who knew the vehicle was stolen are excluded.
Key conditions
Territorial scope
Valid in Romania, all EU member states, EEA states, Switzerland, territories between two EU member states without a national bureau, and all Green Card signatory states. For damage abroad, the limits of the country of accident apply if higher than Romanian limits. See http://gc-territorial-validity.cobx.org for details.
Green card rules
The Green Card is issued together with the RCA policy and proves insurance coverage abroad. Coverage extends to all Green Card signatory states. Where a foreign state imposes higher indemnity limits, those limits apply subject to specific conditions. The policyholder must carry the Green Card when driving abroad.
Driver restrictions
No driver age or experience restrictions beyond standard Romanian law requirements are specified. Any licensed driver authorized by the vehicle owner may drive the insured vehicle. If the policyholder or insured makes false declarations or omits information in bad faith that influences the insurer's risk assessment, the contract may be declared null. There are no grace periods for premium payment; the policy terminates without prior notice if the premium is not paid on time.
Claim notification deadline
The insured must notify Anytime (Interamerican) within 5 business days of the accident. Notification must include causes and circumstances of the accident, required documentation, whether the injured party has claimed compensation, whether criminal or administrative proceedings have been initiated, and any changes to policy information. Damage assessment takes place within 3 business days of notification or at an agreed date. The insured's failure to notify does not limit the injured third party's right to compensation.
Bonus-malus rules
The bonus-malus system is governed by Romanian Law 132/2017 and ASF Norm 20/2017 and applies uniformly to all RCA insurers including Anytime. Drivers are placed in bonus or malus classes based on their accident history. Each claim-free year advances the driver one class; each at-fault accident results in a two-class demotion (cumulative for multiple accidents). Maximum bonus of 50% reduction is achievable after 8 claim-free years. The class is linked to the vehicle owner (by CNP/CUI), not the vehicle, and transfers to a new vehicle upon purchase.
