Union covers third-party bodily injury and death claims up to €6,450,000 per claim, available in both the OPTIMUM and EXCELENT packages.
Property damage liability limit

Property damage liability is covered up to €1,300,000 in the OPTIMUM package or up to €5,000,000 in the EXCELENT package.
Legal defence costs
Covered
Reasonably incurred legal representation costs for pursuing a claim are covered, capped at the statutory attorney tariff rate; no separate monetary limit is set in the general terms.
Green Card issuance
Covered
Union issues the Green Card (International Motor Insurance Card) to the policyholder without undue delay after conclusion of the contract, at no extra cost.
Roadside assistance

The basic KLASIK assistance package is included free with every PZP policy, with a cumulative benefit limit of €150 in Slovakia and €250 abroad. The optional EXTRA package raises the limit to unlimited in Slovakia and €1,000 abroad; services are provided via EuroCross Assistance.
Driver accident insurance

Optional accident rider covering the driver for permanent injury consequences and death due to accident up to €10,000; the driver is not covered under the base MTPL liability cover since a driver cannot claim against their own liability policy.
Passenger accident insurance
€10,000
Optional accident insurance for the driver or entire vehicle crew, covering permanent injury consequences and death due to accident up to €10,000 per insured person, plus a daily hospitalisation benefit of €20 per day for up to 60 days, with no deductible.
Key conditions
Territorial scope
MTPL coverage applies to insured events in EU/EEA/EFTA member states and other countries listed on the Green Card; for accidents in another member state, compensation follows the local liability insurance rules unless the policy grants broader cover.
Green card rules
Union issues the Green Card automatically upon conclusion of the policy; it must be returned to Union within 15 days after the policy ends.
Driver restrictions
Union may seek reimbursement of the paid claim from the policyholder or insured if the driver caused the accident intentionally, was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, drove without a valid licence or while banned from driving, or drove a vehicle known to be technically unfit.
Claim notification deadline
The insured must report a claim in writing within 15 days if it occurred in Slovakia, or within 30 days if it occurred abroad.
Bonus-malus rules
The bonus/malus is set according to the number of claim-free months minus 18 months per claim, ranging from -50% (60+ claim-free months) to +40% (37+ months of malus); the claims record from a prior insurer is credited if the previous policy ended for reasons other than non-payment and less than 12 months have passed since it ended.
