Direct payment

For repairs carried out at the workshop to which the insurer directs the policyholder, costs are settled directly with that contracted workshop; if the policyholder chooses a different workshop, the insurer reimburses only up to the amount that would have been charged by the workshop it designated.

Geographic scope

Slovenia

Cover applies in the Republic of Slovenia, EU member states, and countries whose national insurance bureaus are signatories to the Green Card / Multilateral Agreement; cover can be extended to other countries by special agreement and payment of additional premium.

Unique selling points

  • The optional 'Ekstra nadomestno vozilo – Backup car' cover provides up to 10 days of free replacement-vehicle use after an at-fault accident, marketed by Groupama as a novelty on the Slovenian insurance market.
  • The free 'Drive angel' mobile app, included with the optional GROUPAMA Asistenca package, warns drivers about speeding, excessive in-car noise and driving without rest breaks, and lets them share their route with others.
  • Policyholders can freely combine up to ten separate partial-casco modules (fire & natural hazards, theft, glass, lights, animals, parking damage, key theft, replacement vehicle) alongside general casco to tailor cover to their needs.
  • The deductible can be freely selected between 0.5% and 8% of the vehicle's new-purchase value, letting customers trade premium cost against out-of-pocket risk.
  • An optional machinery-breakdown extension (STR) protects work vehicles' drive engines and equipment against sudden mechanical or electrical breakdowns not covered by standard casco perils.

Coverage limits

Own Damage (General Casco – SK)

Partial Loss

100% of insured sum

For damage (partial loss), indemnity equals repair costs (including disassembly, assembly and transport) minus the value of replaced residual parts; no wear deduction applies except for specified parts (e.g. bearings, brake pads/discs/drums, shock absorbers, steering rack, battery, canvas roof, hydraulic oil, tyres, tracks, exhaust), where a wear-based deduction is made.

Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

A driver with less than three years of driving experience, or driving with a supervising instructor as required by law, is treated as an increased risk requiring an additional premium; experience is counted from the date the relevant category of driving licence was first obtained.

Repair network requirements

The insurer directs the policyholder to a specific contracted repair workshop; if the policyholder chooses a different workshop, the insurer reimburses repair costs only up to the amount that would have applied at the workshop it designated.

Territorial scope

Cover applies in Slovenia, EU member states and countries whose national insurance bureaus have signed the Green Card/Multilateral Agreement; extension to other countries requires a special agreement and additional premium.

Anti-theft requirements

Theft claims are paid only if the policyholder surrenders all original and spare vehicle keys or electronic locking/starting devices, together with the original vehicle registration certificate, to the insurer; theft must also be reported immediately to the police.

Claim notification deadline

The insurer must be notified within 3 days of the policyholder becoming aware of the insured event; if the initial notice was not given in writing, it must be confirmed in writing within a further 3 days.

Deductible rules

A deductible (franchise), agreed as a percentage of the vehicle's new-purchase value, applies per claim and reduces the insurer's payout accordingly; for SK1 traffic-related events the policyholder may choose a deductible of 0.5%, 1%, 2%, 4% or 8%.
