Key conditions

territorial_scope

Coverage applies automatically and without additional premium throughout Spain (including Canary Islands, Ceuta, and Melilla), all EEA member states, Vatican City, Monaco, San Marino, Gibraltar, and all countries signatory to the Green Card Convention (Complementary Convention of 12/12/1973), except Russia and Belarus.

green_card_rules

The Green Card (International Motor Insurance Certificate – CIS) is issued by Allianz via the OFESAUTO/ReCIS centralised system. It is required when travelling to countries outside the EEA that demand proof of insurance. Coverage in Green Card countries is provided at the legally required minimum of the country visited. Allianz registers the vehicle in the FIVA (Fichero Informativo de Vehículos Asegurados) managed by the Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros.

driver_restrictions

Any driver aged 26 or over with at least 3 years of driving licence is covered under the policy without declaration. Drivers not meeting these conditions (under 26 years or less than 3 years of licence) must be declared as Authorised Drivers in the policy's particular conditions. At-fault claims made by any user of the vehicle are recorded against the policyholder's claims history.

claim_notification_deadline

The policyholder must notify Allianz of any claim, its circumstances, and consequences as soon as possible and no later than 7 days after the incident occurs. Failure to meet this deadline may affect the validity of the claim. Immediate notification is strongly recommended. Claims may be filed online via the insurer's digital platform.

bonus_malus_rules

Allianz calculates the premium based on the policyholder's claims history as a good driver ('buen conductor'). Discounts are granted for claims-free years and prior no-claims bonus, up to a maximum reduction of 60% depending on the sinistrality history. At-fault claims recorded on the policy can increase the premium at renewal. Claims history is shared via the UNESPA Historical Motor Insurance File.
