Occident
Occident is a motor third-party liability insurance for the ES market with online purchase and 24/7 assistance.
Direct payment
The insurer directly assumes legal defense costs and pays mandatory civil liability indemnifications to injured third parties. Roadside assistance services are organized and paid directly by the insurer. In the event of disagreement on damage valuation, an expert appraisal process is initiated with costs shared 50/50 between parties, unless one party's valuation is manifestly disproportionate.
Geographic scope
Spain
European Economic Area and states adhering to the Multilateral Guarantee Agreement (Andorra, Serbia, Switzerland). Voluntary coverages apply in Spain, Andorra and Multilateral Guarantee Agreement states only. Green Card extension available on request for other states.

Key conditions
territorial_scope
Coverage applies throughout the EEA and states adhering to the Multilateral Guarantee Agreement (including Andorra, Serbia, and Switzerland) for mandatory civil liability. If an accident occurs in another EEA state, the higher of Spanish or local statutory limits applies. Voluntary coverages (legal defence, own damage, theft, etc.) apply only in Spain, Andorra, and Multilateral Guarantee Agreement states. Extension to Green Card states requires prior request and insurer endorsement. The risk location is considered to be the habitual residence in Spain of the declared habitual driver.
green_card_rules
Mandatory civil liability operates automatically in all EEA countries and Multilateral Guarantee Agreement states (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Estonia, France, Finland, Great Britain, Ireland, Greece, Netherlands, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden and Switzerland). For countries outside this area that require the Green Card, the insured must request an extension supplement from the insurer in advance. The insurer then issues a policy endorsement specifying the conditions for that extension.
driver_restrictions
The habitual driver must be identified by name in the policy particulars. Other drivers with a valid licence and authorisation of the policyholder or owner may drive the vehicle. Drivers under 25 years of age and/or with less than 2 years of licence seniority must be expressly declared in the policy particulars, unless they are already declared in another in-force policy with the same insurer covering a similar vehicle owned by the same family unit. Driving without a valid licence, or with a suspended, annulled or withdrawn licence, is excluded from voluntary coverages (insurer retains right of recourse).
claim_notification_deadline
The insured must notify the insurer of the accident as soon as possible and always within 7 days of the accident or the day they became aware of it. All relevant information about the circumstances and consequences must be provided. In case of theft, fire or vandalism, the insured must report the facts to the authorities immediately. Failure to notify may give the insurer the right to claim damages caused by the lack of declaration, unless it can be proven the insurer learned of the accident by other means. Urgent repairs may be carried out without prior authorisation if their cost does not exceed the limit stated in the coverage summary, provided the invoice and accident declaration are submitted within 7 days.
bonus_malus_rules
The renewal premium for each annual period is calculated by applying the insurer's current tariffs to the risk and insured sum, taking into account coverage modifications and risk aggravation or reduction, as well as the personal claims history from preceding insurance periods. Risk aggravation factors include: age and licence seniority of the habitual/declared driver, number of vehicles in the family unit or workplace, and characteristics, use and circulation area of the insured vehicle. No explicit bonus-malus table is described in the documents provided; the premium is experience-rated individually.
