Regulatory updates
In March 2026, Finansinspektionen (FI) concluded its investigation into Alecta's investments in Heimstaden Bostad and issued Alecta a formal warning together with a maximum sanction fee of SEK 50 million, finding that Alecta had failed in its risk control and had not invested assets in a manner that best served current and future pensioners. FI had previously (December 2025) closed a separate investigation into Alecta's investments in US regional banks (SVB, First Republic, Signature) without a sanction. Alecta's insurance distribution activity is governed by the Insurance Distribution Act (2018:1219) and FI's regulations FFFS 2018:10.
