Regulatory updates
WaterCircles Sverige AB is registered as an insurance intermediary with Bolagsverket and supervised by Finansinspektionen (FI). In July 2022, the group applied to FI for a new insurance licence in Sweden (under the entity WaterSafe AB, intended to be renamed WaterCircles Försäkring AB) to move its Swedish insurance portfolio from the Norwegian parent to a newly licensed Swedish company. FI rejected the licence application, and in January 2024 the Administrative Court in Stockholm (Förvaltningsrätten) upheld FI's rejection of WaterCircles' appeal. As of the latest information, insurance policies continue to be underwritten via WaterCircles Forsikring ASA Norge's Swedish branch (previously via If Skadeförsäkring for policies incepted before 2020-01-01).
