Geographic scope

Sweden

Valid in all countries within the Green Card system and while the vehicle is transported between those countries; a physical Green Card certificate may still be required in some countries

Coverage limits

Bodily injury liability

SEK 300,000,000

Compensates personal injury to persons in or outside the vehicle caused in traffic, under the Traffic Damage Act; the T&C states an overall maximum compensation for the traffic insurance of 300 million SEK (not split by injury/property)

Property damage liability

SEK 300,000,000

Compensates damage to another person's vehicle (if fault is proven) and other property outside the vehicle belonging to third parties; shares the same overall 300 million SEK cap as bodily injury liability; personal belongings carried in the vehicle are capped separately at half a prisbasbelopp

Legal costs under the traffic insurance

Covered

The traffic insurance covers reasonable litigation costs when the policyholder is sued for a claim and, where necessary for a compensable personal injury, lawyer's fees up to the government's hourly-cost norm for legal aid; note the separate 'Rättsskydd' module (max 400,000 SEK per dispute) is part of delkasko/halvförsäkring, not this trafikförsäkring-only product

Source

Green Card coverage

Covered

The insurance applies in all countries within the Green Card system and while the vehicle is transported between them; in some countries a physical Green Card must still be presented and can be obtained on request

Source

Roadside assistance / recovery

Excluded

Not included in the standalone traffic insurance; recovery/towing (Räddning/bärgning) is part of delkasko under a halvförsäkring, and the dedicated Assistans add-on can only be added to a vehicle that is at least halvförsäkrad

Source

Driver personal injury

Covered

Personal injury to a person in the vehicle (including the driver) arising from traffic is covered under the Traffic Damage Act rules; the optional Trafikolycksfall add-on (600,000 SEK at 100% medical invalidity) provides supplementary invalidity compensation but requires at least a halvförsäkring and is not part of this standalone traffic insurance

Source

Passenger personal injury

Covered

Personal injury to passengers in or outside the vehicle arising from traffic is covered under the Traffic Damage Act rules; the optional Trafikolycksfall add-on (600,000 SEK at 100% medical invalidity) also applies to passengers but requires at least a halvförsäkring

Key conditions

Territorial scope

Applies in all Green Card countries and during transport between them; the traffic insurance always applies worldwide for Swedish citizens/residents injured in traffic with a Swedish-registered vehicle, under the Traffic Damage Act; foreign claims are governed by the law of the country where the damage occurred

Green card rules

Some Green Card system countries still require proof of traffic insurance in the form of a physical Green Card certificate; the policyholder can request one from the insurer

Driver restrictions

The vehicle must not be driven by anyone criminally impaired by alcohol/drugs, the driver must hold the required licence, and the vehicle must not be used for competition, professional hire or courier services; a special youth deductible (10% of the prisbasbelopp) applies to the traffic insurance if the driver is under 25, unless that driver is the registered owner or was declared at inception

Claim notification deadline

A claim must be reported to the insurer without delay; for theft, vandalism, robbery or assault a police report must also be filed at the place of the incident

Bonus-malus rules

The terms and conditions do not describe a bonus-malus (claims discount) system; premium is instead set individually per policyholder and vehicle based on the risk factors used by the insurer
