Direct payment

For personal injury claims, Paydrive/Dina Försäkring AB commissions and pays for the necessary medical assessment directly, so the policyholder does not need to advance medical costs and then seek reimbursement.

Geographic scope

Nordic countries and the Green Card zone

Applies in countries covered by the Green Card agreement and during transport between them. Traffic insurance (trafikförsäkring) also applies worldwide under the Traffic Damage Act for damage caused by a Swedish-registered vehicle to a Swedish citizen or resident. Cover does not apply during driving on closed motorsport circuits such as Anderstorp, Gotland Ring, Mantorp or Nürburgring.

Unique selling points

  • Premiums are based on actual kilometres driven each month rather than an estimated annual mileage, so low-mileage drivers pay less.
  • A telematics-based driving-style score (from Supersäker to Farlig) can lower the premium for safe drivers through periodic repricing.
  • Kristerapi (crisis therapy) with a licensed psychologist, up to 10 sessions, is included even at the basic trafikförsäkring level.
  • Konsumenternas försäkringsbyrå has rated Paydrive's car insurance 4.6 out of 5.
  • Policyholders get a free, real-time individual CO2 footprint based on how the insured car is actually driven, at no extra cost.

Coverage limits

Bodily injury liability (Trafikförsäkring)

SEK 300,000,000

Mandatory motor liability insurance compensates personal injury caused to third parties, drivers and passengers as a result of traffic with the insured vehicle, under the Swedish Traffic Damage Act (Trafikskadelagen). The maximum combined compensation for bodily injury and property damage together is SEK 300,000,000 per claim event.

Property damage liability (Trafikförsäkring)

SEK 300,000,000

Compensates damage to third-party property caused by the insured vehicle in traffic, under the Traffic Damage Act. This shares the same combined SEK 300,000,000 per-event cap as bodily injury liability; it is not a separate additional limit. Driver's and passengers' clothing and personal belongings (excluding cash, jewellery and valuable documents) are also compensated up to 0.25 of the price base amount (prisbasbelopp) per person.

Legal expenses cover (Rättsskydd)

Excluded

Legal expenses cover is not included at the trafikförsäkring-only level. Rättsskydd is only included when halvförsäkring or helförsäkring is purchased in addition to the mandatory traffic insurance.

Green Card

Covered

Traffic insurance automatically covers the countries within the Green Card system without a physical card. For travel to certain countries outside the Nordics (e.g. Albania, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Iran, Morocco, Moldova, North Macedonia, Russia, Tunisia, Turkey and Ukraine) a physical Green Card certificate must be requested from Paydrive in advance; there is no separate monetary sum insured for this coverage.

Roadside assistance (Assistans)

Excluded

Roadside assistance is not included in a stand-alone trafikförsäkring. It is only available as an add-on (Pluspaket or separate tillägg) together with halv- or helförsäkring.

Driver personal injury protection

Covered

Personal injury to the driver caused by traffic with the insured vehicle is covered under trafikförsäkring per the Traffic Damage Act, with compensation assessed case-by-case (no fixed sum insured). The separate Trafikolycksfall accident rider, which pays fixed sums of SEK 600,000 for medical invalidity and SEK 50,000 for death, is only available when halv- or helförsäkring is purchased, not at the trafikförsäkring-only level.

Passenger personal injury protection

Covered

Personal injury to passengers caused by traffic with the insured vehicle is covered under trafikförsäkring per the Traffic Damage Act, with compensation assessed case-by-case (no fixed sum insured). The separate Trafikolycksfall accident rider, with fixed sums of SEK 600,000 for medical invalidity and SEK 50,000 for death, is only available with halv- or helförsäkring.

Key conditions

Territorial scope

Applies in countries covered by the Green Card agreement and during transport between them. Traffic insurance also applies worldwide under the Traffic Damage Act for damage caused by a Swedish-registered vehicle to a Swedish citizen or resident. Cover does not apply on closed motorsport circuits such as Anderstorp, Gotland Ring, Mantorp or Nürburgring.

Green card rules

Contact Paydrive in advance to order a Green Card certificate before travelling outside the Nordic countries. Certain countries (Albania, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Iran, Morocco, Moldova, North Macedonia, Russia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine) require the physical Green Card; also bring the vehicle registration certificate.

Driver restrictions

Trafikförsäkring always applies regardless of driver age or probationary licence status. If the driver was under 24 years old at the time of a vagnskada or trafikskada, an additional 'ungdomssjälvrisk' deductible of SEK 1,000 applies on top of the base deductible, but cover itself is not voided.

Claim notification deadline

Claims must be reported to Paydrive without undue delay via paydrive.se, phone or mail. Theft, vandalism and wild-animal collisions must also be reported to the police. The policyholder must contact Paydrive before repair, towing or replacement of the vehicle.

Bonus-malus rules

Paydrive does not use a traditional bonus-malus ladder. Premiums are instead revised for each new insurance period based on telematics-derived driving data (speeding, acceleration, braking, road type, time of day). A high-risk surcharge (högrisktillägg) of up to 3 times the month's combined daily premiums applies on the next invoice if the driving style recorded on the 27th of the month is classified as 'Farlig' (dangerous); the surcharge is removed once the driving style improves.

Insurer discretion in repair vs. replacement decisions

Paydrive/Dina Försäkring AB may decide whether damaged vehicles are repaired, replaced with equivalent vehicle, or cash settlement is paid. Insurer also selects repair method and provider.

Source

Monthly premium billing based on distance driven

Insurance premium is billed monthly and split into fixed monthly cost plus variable mileage cost. Monthly invoice reflects actual kilometers driven during previous month, recorded by Bilbox or vehicle data.
