Winter sports cover
Conditional
Ordinary skiing on marked slopes is covered under the standard accident/illness benefits (an official claims example describes reimbursement for a ski-fall injury), but skiing off marked slopes, speed skiing and downhill racing are excluded.
Adventure sports cover

24/7 emergency assistance
Covered
SOS International provides a travel emergency assistance service available 24 hours a day, every day of the year, reachable at +45 7010 5054, arranging direct billing and medical transport as needed.
Key conditions
Assistance call deadline
In an emergency, the insured must contact Chubb's emergency travel assistance company (SOS International) immediately; other claims must be submitted in writing within one year of becoming aware of the insured event, and in any case no later than ten years after the loss occurred.
Unauthorized treatment
Chubb may reduce reimbursement if the costs claimed clearly and substantially exceed generally accepted reasonable levels; further treatment costs are not reimbursed if the insured refuses repatriation after a Chubb-approved local doctor has authorised discharge, or resumes travelling after repatriation without Chubb's written consent.
Purchase while abroad
This travel insurance is an automatic group benefit included with membership of the relevant Akava member association; it is not a policy that can be purchased individually, including while already abroad.
Chronic conditions
Costs for treatment of a chronic, previously known, contagious or incurable disease are generally excluded; if such a condition suddenly and unexpectedly worsens during the trip, necessary acute treatment is covered for a maximum of 7 days.
Pregnancy
Pregnancy tests, childbirth examinations, abortion and sterilisation are not covered, and the consequences of childbirth or pregnancy after the 28th week of pregnancy are excluded.
Pre-existing condition exclusions
A condition that existed, was diagnosed, or was under investigation before the trip was booked or began does not qualify as a covered travel illness, even if formally diagnosed during the trip; sudden unexpected worsening is covered only for up to 7 days of acute treatment.
Coverage duration limit
The annual travel insurance covers leisure trips of up to 45 consecutive days and an unlimited number of trips within the 12-month policy period; the insured must return to Finland between trips if the combined length of consecutive trips exceeds 45 days.
