Search and rescue
Excluded
Search and rescue costs are not explicitly mentioned or covered in the Hemförsäkring H25 travel section.
COVID-19 treatment
Excluded
COVID-19 is not explicitly mentioned in the policy. However, as an acute illness arising unexpectedly during travel, COVID-19 would generally fall under the acute illness provisions in J.2.1 and J.2.2, provided the condition was not known or symptomatic within 3 months before departure and was not foreseeable before the trip began.
Pre-existing conditions

Costs due to an accident that occurred or illness that existed or was known before the trip started are excluded. Costs due to a health condition for which the insured has had the same or similar symptoms within 3 months before departure are also excluded. Winter sports cover
Conditional
Winter sports are not explicitly excluded from the medical coverage in the basic travel section of Hemförsäkring H25. Standard acute illness/injury coverage would apply. However, professional athletes and participation in motor racing on tracks are excluded. Liability coverage for skiing in Italy requires a special travel certificate.
Adventure sports cover
Conditional
No blanket exclusion for adventure sports is stated in the basic travel section. However, if aged 16 or over, the policy excludes damage from boxing or other combat sports involving strikes/kicks, racing or practice runs with motor vehicles on tracks, or participation as a professional athlete. General acute illness and injury cover otherwise applies during travel.
Pregnancy complications

Complications constituting an acute and unforeseen deterioration of health during travel are covered, provided no symptoms occurred in the 3 months before departure and the condition was not foreseeable before the trip began. Planned operations, cosmetic treatments and elective procedures are excluded.
Personal liability

Covered
24/7 emergency assistance is provided through SOS International (telephone +46 8 670 40 00). The insurer coordinates care decisions and repatriation in consultation with SOS International. Additionally, 24/7 telephone assistance for identity theft prevention is included.
Key conditions
Assistance call deadline
In case of serious illness or accident the insured must contact SOS International at +46 8 670 40 00. For early repatriation or changes to the return journey, prior approval by SOS International or the insurer is mandatory. There is no explicit time deadline stated for initial contact, but the insured is expected to consult a doctor from the first day of illness.
Unauthorized treatment
If the insured must return home for care or treatment, the insurer will not pay the cost of return travel to the place where the trip was interrupted. Emergency repatriation and changes to transport must be pre-approved by SOS International or the insurer; unauthorized changes may not be reimbursed.
Purchase while abroad
The travel section (J) of the home insurance cannot be purchased while already abroad. The insurance must be in force before departure. For stays exceeding 45 days, a separate long-stay abroad insurance must be arranged before departure.
Chronic conditions
Chronic conditions and diseases that were present, known, or for which the insured has had the same or similar symptoms within 3 months before departure are excluded. Coverage applies if the chronic condition acutely and unforeseeeably deteriorates during the trip.
Pregnancy
Normal pregnancy and routine antenatal checks are not considered acute illness and are not covered. Acute and unforeseeable pregnancy complications arising during travel are covered if no related symptoms occurred within 3 months before departure and the condition was not expected before the trip. Planned operations and elective procedures are excluded.
pre_existing_conditions
Costs due to an accident that occurred or illness that existed or was known before the trip started are excluded. Costs due to health conditions for which the insured had the same or similar symptoms within 3 months before departure are excluded. Exception: coverage applies if the condition acutely deteriorates during travel and this was not foreseeable before departure.
coverage_duration_limit
The basic travel cover included in the home insurance applies only during the first 45 days of each trip, counted from the departure date from the home municipality in Sweden. Short visits to the home municipality of less than 30 days, where the intention is to return to the same destination, do not start a new 45-day period. For trips exceeding 45 days, a separate long-stay abroad insurance must be arranged.
