Direct payment

The policy terms describe reimbursement against a submitted repair invoice or payment of the replacement value in case of total loss; the available documents do not describe a cashless, direct-billing arrangement between the insurer and repair workshops.

Geographic scope

Europe in the geographical sense, and at minimum all states that signed the 30 May 2002 Green Card multilateral agreement

Coverage applies in Europe in the geographical sense; the scope can be contractually extended, and cover for accidents abroad on private trips is limited to at least 50 km from the policyholder's Austrian residence and to stays of no more than 31 days.

Unique selling points

  • Raiffeisen's motor liability policy offers a bonus/malus system with just one malus level, marketed as unique on the Austrian market, and the paired casco keeps a matching bonus classification.
  • A loss-free bonus is automatically granted to bonus drivers in levels -3 to +3 who stay claims-free.
  • Raiffeisen VerkehrsSoforthilfe provides free, 24/7 roadside assistance across Europe and Mediterranean countries, automatically included with the motor liability policy.
  • Special equipment is automatically co-insured up to EUR 2,000 free of additional premium.
  • A Spot-Repair partner-workshop service quickly and cost-effectively fixes minor paint scratches and dents.

Coverage limits

Own-vehicle damage from accidents (own or third-party fault)

Covered

Comprehensive casco covers damage to the insured vehicle from an accident regardless of who is at fault; this is the core feature distinguishing comprehensive (Vollkasko) from partial (Teilkasko) casco. Depending on the extent of the damage, either the repair costs or the replacement value is reimbursed. Specific sums insured are agreed individually in the policy.

Source

Total loss indemnity

Not established from the insurer's documents

A total loss exists if the vehicle is destroyed or lost, or if projected repair costs plus residual value exceed the replacement value. The insurer pays the replacement value (the cost of an equivalent vehicle in the same condition at the time of loss). For qualifying passenger cars/light vehicles, an enhanced benefit applies within 24 months of first registration: 100% of purchase price in months 1-12, 90% in months 13-18, and 80% in months 19-24, provided the vehicle retains at least 70%/65%/60%/55% of list price respectively.

Partial loss / repair cost indemnity

Not established from the insurer's documents

If no total loss exists, the insurer pays the cost of the repair actually carried out plus necessary transport costs of spare parts, or, if the damaged vehicle is sold, the estimated cost of restoration. A new-for-old deduction for parts/paint applies after the third year from first registration for most vehicle types, but is waived for cars, station wagons, light four-wheel vehicles, trucks up to 3,500 kg and motorhomes up to 3,500 kg.

Theft, robbery and unauthorized use

Not established from the insurer's documents

Covers damage or loss of the vehicle through theft, robbery, or unauthorized use by persons outside the household; the vehicle itself is indemnified at replacement value (uncapped), not the personal-effects sub-limit. Separately, loss of personal items normally carried in the vehicle (excluding cash, valuables, securities, documents/IDs) through break-in theft is covered up to EUR 1,500. If a stolen/robbed vehicle is later recovered, actual recovery costs are reimbursed up to 5% of the replacement value, capped at EUR 2,000, without deduction of the deductible.

Glass breakage

Not established from the insurer's documents

Covers breakage of windscreens, side and rear windows regardless of cause (excluding wear-related breakage of convertible rear windows), for the broad range of listed vehicle types (cars, vans, trucks, buses, motorhomes, agricultural/construction machinery etc.); a glass roof counts as a window. Breakage of headlights, taillights, indicator lenses and exterior mirrors is also covered for these vehicle types, and separately for small motorcycles/mopeds/tricycles. A separate optional 'Kleingläser' module extends cover for smaller glass items depending on vehicle type.

Natural hazards

Not established from the insurer's documents

Covers direct effects of lightning, rockfall, stone fall, landslide, avalanche, snow pressure, hail, high water, flooding, mudflow and storm (wind over 60 km/h), as well as roof avalanches and falling icicles/ice formations, including objects thrown onto the vehicle by these forces. For fully electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles, damage from indirect lightning (atmospheric electricity) is also covered.

Vandalism

Not established from the insurer's documents

Covers malicious or wanton acts by persons outside the household (vandalism damage) to the insured vehicle.

Recovery/towing costs

Not established from the insurer's documents

As part of a covered claim, the insurer pays the necessary costs of recovering and transporting the damaged vehicle to the nearest suitable repair workshop (uncapped 'necessary cost' standard). If a stolen vehicle is later recovered, actual recovery costs are reimbursed up to 5% of the replacement value, capped at EUR 2,000, without deduction of the deductible. This is distinct from 'Raiffeisen VerkehrsSoforthilfe', a 24/7 roadside-assistance service across Europe that is automatically included with the (separate) compulsory motor liability policy, not with this casco product.

Replacement vehicle costs

Not established from the insurer's documents

For cars, station wagons and light four-wheel vehicles without special use, following an accident claim to which the agreed accident deductible applies, the insurer reimburses the cost of a replacement vehicle rented from a licensed rental company or the repairing workshop for the duration of the repair, up to EUR 50 per day and EUR 350 per calendar year against invoice. These costs are not counted toward the agreed deductible; they are not reimbursed if the vehicle is sold in damaged condition.

Driver accident (personal injury) cover

Not established from the reviewed documents

No occupant/driver personal-accident benefit is described in the casco terms or IPID for this product.

Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

No specific driver age or driving-experience limit is stated in the available policy terms or IPID for this casco product.

Repair network requirements

Before repair or disposal of the damaged vehicle, the policyholder must obtain the insurer's consent where reasonably possible. No obligation to use a specific repair-shop network is stated for standard casco claims; some marketing pages mention an optional partner-workshop 'Spot-Repair' service for minor scratches/dents, available in most but not all provinces.

Territorial scope

Coverage applies in Europe in the geographical sense, and at least in the territory of the states that signed the Green Card multilateral agreement of 30 May 2002.

Anti-theft requirements

No specific anti-theft device (e.g. alarm, tracker) is mandated in the terms; the policyholder must, however, store visible personal items out of sight in the vehicle and comply with the agreed terms of use.

Claim notification deadline

The claim, and the opening of any related administrative or court proceedings, must be reported to the insurer within one week of becoming aware of it. Theft, robbery, unauthorized use, fire, explosion, animal contact, parking damage or vandalism must additionally be reported to the nearest police station without delay.

Deductible rules

A deductible applies per vehicle and per claim in the amount individually agreed in the policy; the terms do not state a fixed deductible figure. If items on which the insurer has acquired ownership after a theft payout are recovered, the deductible is refunded up to the sale proceeds achieved, less recovery costs.
