Smile's insurance products are underwritten under the insurance concession of Helvetia Versicherungen AG, granted by the FMA (Otto-Wagner-Platz 5, 1090 Vienna) under the Austrian Insurance Supervision Act 2016 (VAG 2016). In March 2025, the Austrian Society for Consumer Studies (ÖGVS) named smile.car the best motor insurance product in Austria, ahead of 16 other insurers, underscoring Smile's fast market establishment less than two years after entering Austria.
