Groupama is a motor casco insurance for the Bulgaria market with online purchase and 24/7 assistance.
Direct payment
For vehicles repaired at a Groupama-contracted trusted service centre, payment is made directly between Groupama and the service centre without the insured paying out of pocket.
Geographic scope
Republic of Bulgaria and international (EU/EEA/Green Card countries)
Republic of Bulgaria, EU member states, European Economic Area, Republic of Andorra, Republic of Serbia, Confederation of Switzerland, and non-EU Green Card member states. Theft, robbery and fire risks excluded when event occurs in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belarus, North Macedonia, Israel, Iran, Montenegro, Morocco, Russia, Moldova, Tunisia and Ukraine.

Own damage (partial and total loss)
Covered
Covers full loss or partial damage to the insured vehicle caused by covered risks under Clause A (road accident, fire, natural perils, vandalism, parking impact, theft, robbery, glass damage, key loss). Compensation is limited to the insured sum which may not exceed the actual value of the vehicle at the date of contract. Total loss is declared when repair costs exceed 70% of the insured sum.
Total loss
Covered
Total loss is declared when repair costs exceed 70% of the insured sum of the vehicle. Compensation is paid up to the insured sum but not more than the actual value of the vehicle at the date of the insured event. Upon total loss due to theft or robbery the insured vehicle becomes property of the insurer. Before payment the insured must present proof of deregistration of the vehicle on grounds of total loss.
Partial loss
Covered
Compensation for partial damage caused by a covered risk under Clause A. Settlement method depends on vehicle age at policy inception: up to 4 years – authorised dealer, trusted contracted service or expert assessment; 5 to 10 years – trusted service or expert assessment (official dealer service available with additional premium); over 10 years – expert assessment only (trusted service with additional premium). Declaration-only claims (no police document) capped at 15% of insured sum per policy term; cap does not apply to glass claims arising independently.
Theft and robbery of the whole vehicle
Covered
Covers theft (taking of the vehicle without the insured's consent with intent to appropriate unlawfully) and robbery (taking with force or threat) of the whole vehicle. If vehicle registration certificate part I and/or II is not presented, compensation is limited to 50% of actual vehicle value. No deductible applies for these risks. Excluded when event occurs in specified countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belarus, North Macedonia, Israel, Iran, Montenegro, Morocco, Russia, Moldova, Tunisia, Ukraine). Notification deadline: within 24 hours of the event.
Glass damage (windscreen, rear and side windows)
Covered
Covers damage and/or breakage of the front, rear or side windows of the insured vehicle caused by vandalism, falling objects, aircraft, trees or branches, or by impact with a moving or stationary object during vehicle movement. No deductible applies for this risk. The 15% declaration cap does not apply to glass claims arising independently.
Natural perils
Covered
Covers storm (wind above 15 m/s), hurricane (wind above 30 m/s), lightning strike, hail, heavy rain, sea waves, falling snow mass or ice pieces, landslide, earth collapse, falling hard objects, flooding, and falling trees or branches caused by natural disasters. Earthquake and its consequences are explicitly excluded.
Vandalism (malicious acts by third parties)
Covered
Covers damage caused by malicious acts of third parties including scratching, piercing, pouring paint or chemicals on the vehicle; breaking locks, antenna, interior fittings, rear-view mirrors, factory-fitted emblems and trims; slashing or puncturing tyres. The insured and their household members, employees and persons with access to the vehicle with consent are not considered third parties. Cover excluded if the vehicle was left unlocked or with keys inside.
Vehicle transport at claim event (limited in-policy inclusion)
Covered
Reasonable costs of rescue and transport of an immobile vehicle from the loss scene to the nearest repair point or its domicile are included within claim settlement. Costs must be pre-agreed with the Groupama call centre; if not pre-agreed, reimbursed up to 357.90 EUR domestically. Abroad: provisional repair or transport up to 10% of insured sum, capped at 766.94 EUR for vehicles up to 3.5 t and buses up to 9 seats, or 1,533.88 EUR for heavy vehicles and buses over 9 seats; responsible storage up to 5 days up to 255.65 EUR. Full roadside assistance (breakdown towing, on-road repair, fuel delivery) is available only under the separate Auto Asistans product.
Replacement vehicle
Not offered
A replacement vehicle is not provided under Casco Prestige. A substitute driver service when abroad is available only under the separate Auto Asistans product.
Driver and occupant personal accident
Not offered
Personal accident coverage for vehicle occupants is not included in Casco Prestige. It is available as an included component of the separate Comfort package.
Key conditions
Driver age and experience limit
No minimum driver age or driving experience requirement is specified in the General Conditions. A 5% discount is available for vehicles whose owner or main driver is aged over 40.
Repair network requirements
Repair method depends on vehicle age at policy inception: vehicles up to 4 years may use an authorised dealer, trusted contracted service or expert assessment; 5 to 10 years may use trusted service or expert assessment (official dealer service available with additional premium); over 10 years by expert assessment only (trusted service available with additional premium). Costs at a non-trusted service are capped at equivalent trusted-service rates. Repairs abroad must be pre-approved by Groupama.

Anti-theft requirements
The insurer may require that the vehicle be fitted with a functioning passive and/or active security system specified by the insurer before theft and robbery cover is activated. The insured must not leave keys, remote controls for the alarm system, or the vehicle registration certificate inside the vehicle. If the vehicle is left unlocked or with keys or registration documents inside, theft, robbery and vandalism claims may be refused.
Claim notification deadline
For theft or robbery of the whole vehicle: within 24 hours of learning of the event. For all other risks: within 5 working days of learning of the event. Notification can be made by phone (0700 123 32 in Bulgaria; +359 2 902 48 13 abroad), in writing to office@groupama.bg, in person at a Groupama office, or via the client online platform. Failure to notify within prescribed deadlines may result in reduced or refused compensation.
Deductible rules
A deductible (franshiz) is contractually agreed and specified in the policy. It applies to every claim except glass damage, theft of whole vehicle, and robbery of whole vehicle. If the calculated compensation is less than the deductible amount, no compensation is due. The deductible does not apply when subrogation is secured. The deductible cannot exceed 50% of the insured sum. An additional premium can be paid to waive the deductible entirely on all claims.
