Kooperativa pojišťovna, a.s., Vienna Insurance Group
Kooperativa
Kooperativa is a motor casco insurance for the Czech Republic market with online purchase and 24/7 assistance.
Direct payment
The insurer offers a recommended repair solution through its contracted (smluvní) repair network; if the client accepts it, the deductible for partial-damage claims is waived and settlement can be handled directly with the repair shop or assistance provider.
Geographic scope
Europe and Turkey
The insurer pays for damage that occurs within the geographic territory of Europe and the whole territory of Turkey.
Unique selling points
- Guaranteed 3-hour callback from an insurer technician after a claim is reported, to arrange the vehicle inspection.
- Deductible is waived on partial-damage claims if the client accepts the insurer's recommended repair solution.
- Basic roadside assistance is included automatically in the price, covering breakdowns and accidents both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
- Cover applies across the whole of Europe plus Turkey, wider than many domestic-only casco products.
- Flexible short-term casco cover can be arranged for as little as one month, e.g. for a holiday trip.
Coverage limits
Own damage / collision (havárie)
100% of insured sum
Covers damage or destruction of the insured vehicle caused by an accident (own fault or otherwise). The insured sum is the vehicle's usual (market) price at policy inception; claims are settled as repair cost or usual price minus deductible, adjusted for underinsurance.
Total loss (totální poškození)
100% of insured sum
If the vehicle is totally damaged, the claim is calculated as the difference between its usual price a few seconds before the event and the value of usable remains.
Partial damage
100% of insured sum
Partial damage is settled as reasonable and effective repair costs to restore the vehicle to its pre-event condition, based on prices usual for the Czech Republic, less the value of usable replaced parts; may also be settled by a fixed budget (rozpočet) if agreed.
Theft / robbery of the vehicle
100% of insured sum
Theft (or robbery) of the whole vehicle or its parts/equipment is an insured event under the base casco cover; claims for full theft are settled at the vehicle's usual price, partial theft as partial/total damage. Customers can adjust the peril scope of the package on the insurer's website configurator.
Glass insurance (Pojištění skel)
Optional
A separate optional cover for the windscreen or all viewing glass (incl. mirror glass); the client chooses the scope in the contract. Claims are settled as reasonable costs of repair or replacement.
Natural perils / elemental damage (Živelní pojištění)
Optional
Separate optional cover for fire, flood, lightning, windstorm (≥20.8 m/s), hail, and landslides/rockfalls damaging the vehicle; sold and can be selected alongside casco cover on the insurer's product page.
Vandalism
100% of insured sum
Vandalism (intentional damage by an unknown third party) is covered under the base casco insured event, conditional on prompt reporting to the police; if not reported without undue delay, plnění is not paid.
Basic roadside assistance (ZÁKLAD)
Covered
A basic assistance programme (breakdown/accident help in the Czech Republic and abroad, provided via partner GLOBAL ASSISTANCE a.s.) is included automatically at no extra cost with casco insurance; higher assistance programmes with broader limits can be selected.
Replacement vehicle insurance (Pojištění náhradního vozidla)
Optional
A separate optional cover reimbursing rental cost of a replacement vehicle of a comparable class while the insured vehicle is damaged, destroyed or stolen; excludes routine servicing and running costs of the rental car.
Driver/passenger accident insurance (Úrazové pojištění)
Optional
A separate optional personal-accident cover for the driver (and, if agreed, passengers) paying benefits per the Oceňovací tabulky for bodily injury, permanent consequences, death or hospital stay resulting from a road accident.
Key conditions
Driver age and experience limit
No specific minimum driver age or years of experience is stated in the T&Cs; instead, cover for a given loss is excluded if the vehicle was driven by someone without a valid driving licence, professionally or medically unfit to drive, or subject to a driving ban.
Repair network requirements
Use of a contracted (smluvní) repair shop is not mandatory, but if the client accepts the insurer's recommended repair solution, the deductible is waived for partial-damage claims; repairs elsewhere are also possible, with the loss then assessed by budget (rozpočet).
Territorial scope
Casco cover applies within the geographic territory of Europe and the whole territory of Turkey.
Anti-theft requirements
For theft-related claims generally, plnění is not paid if the thief did not have to overcome any reasonable obstacle protecting the insured item from theft (e.g. an unlocked vehicle).
Claim notification deadline
The claim must be reported to the insurer as soon as possible / without undue delay; no fixed number of days is specified for notification (a separate 15-day deadline applies to payout after all documents are received).
Deductible rules
Standard deductible is 5% of the claim, minimum CZK 5,000; a higher deductible can be agreed for a premium discount, and the deductible is waived for partial-damage claims if the client accepts the insurer's recommended repair solution (not applicable to total loss or theft).
