Salva Kindlustuse AS
Salva
Salva is a motor casco insurance for the Estonia market with online purchase and 24/7 assistance.
Direct payment
Damaged vehicles are repaired at a repair shop chosen by mutual agreement of the parties; if no agreement is reached, Salva names the repair shop. If the policyholder does not want to use Salva's nominated repair shop, Salva pays a cash indemnity limited to the estimated repair cost at Salva's nominated shop, minus VAT, deductions and deductible.
Geographic scope
Estonia
Coverage applies within the territorial scope marked on the policy (Estonia, Green Card countries excl. or incl. Russia, or all Green Card countries). Roadside assistance (autoabi) is separately valid in Estonia (excl. small islands) and Europe, excluding Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Turkey, regardless of the main policy's territorial scope.
Unique selling points
- Choice of three coverage packages (Superkasko, Osakasko, Minikasko) letting clients select exactly which risks to insure.

- Wide territorial scope option extending beyond standard Green Card countries to Ukraine, Belarus and Turkey.
- Multi-year policies of up to 5 years for uninterrupted cover and a more favourable premium, plus a 10% discount for concluding the policy online via salva24.ee.
Coverage limits
Own damage (accident/collision risk)
Covered
Damage to the insured vehicle caused by an accident (collision, collision with any object, running off the road, driving into a pothole) is a core insured risk. It is included by default in the Superkasko and Osakasko packages; in Minikasko it is one of the risks the client selects individually. The indemnity is based on the vehicle's market value (kindlustusväärtus) and capped by the sum insured stated on the policy.
Total loss / destruction settlement
Covered
When the insured vehicle is destroyed (repair not economically or technically feasible) or stolen/robbed, the maximum indemnity is the vehicle's market value (harilik hind) immediately before the event, unless leasing-value or new-value insurance applies, in which case the leasing residual value or purchase price is paid instead.
Partial damage / repair settlement
Covered
When the insured vehicle is damaged and repair is economically and technically feasible, Salva indemnifies reasonable repair costs, using parts matching the pre-loss wear, value and quality; repair is done at a jointly agreed workshop or one nominated by Salva. Indemnity is capped by the sum insured.
Theft, robbery, unauthorised use
Conditional
Theft, robbery and unauthorised use of the vehicle are insurable risks conditional on the package/risk selection marked on the policy. Per Salva's own comparison table, this risk is included in Superkasko, is marked ambiguously for Osakasko (indicated with a non-checkmark symbol in Salva's own materials, so inclusion for Osakasko cannot be confirmed from the source), and is a client-selectable optional risk in Minikasko. Cover requires the vehicle to have been locked with windows/boot closed and an active alarm/immobiliser at the time of the event.
Glass insurance
Optional
Additional cover for the windscreen and cabin windows (incl. film), triggered by a direct impact causing breakage or cracking that requires replacement under applicable law; the reasonable repair cost is indemnified. This cover only applies if marked on the policy; deductible application terms are also set on the policy, and a double base deductible applies if the vehicle is repaired outside Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania. Sunroofs and glass roofs are excluded.
Storm, hail and flood
Conditional
Direct damage caused by storm, hail or flood (and objects falling as a result). Per Salva's package comparison, this is included in Superkasko and Osakasko and is a client-selectable optional risk in Minikasko.
Vandalism
Conditional
Intentional damage or destruction of the vehicle by third parties (incl. explosive device detonation) and fire/explosion intentionally caused by third parties. Per Salva's package comparison, included in Superkasko and Osakasko and a client-selectable optional risk in Minikasko.
Roadside assistance (Autoabi)
€500 – €800
Covers accident-scene consultation/recording, technical breakdown assistance, tyre help, jump-starts (max twice per 30 days), towing of EVs to the nearest charging point (max twice per period), fuel delivery, lock-out assistance, extraction from ditches/snow, and towing/passenger transport. Only available for cars/vans up to 3500 kg gross weight, requires a policy mark, and must be requested via Salva's own Autoabi phone line (6844444) to be reimbursed. Towing sum insured is 500 EUR per claim in Estonia and 800 EUR per claim in Europe; the amount exceeding the sum insured is borne by the client.
Travel interruption - replacement transport
€2,000
If the trip is interrupted by an insured event, Salva covers reasonable costs of towing to the nearest secure car park, reasonable travel costs back to Estonia (train/ferry/bus), and, only with an additional mark on the policy, reasonable rental costs of a replacement vehicle or flight tickets to allow the driver and passengers to return to Estonia. The exact sum insured is stated on the policy; Salva's marketing materials state a travel-interruption sum insured of up to 2000 EUR, covering the whole travel party jointly.
Health injury insurance (driver/passenger accident)
Optional
Optional cover (added by special agreement, requires a policy mark) for the life and health of all lawful occupants of the vehicle, paying a permanent-disability benefit or a death benefit if a covered event (accident, storm/hail/flood, fire/explosion, vandalism, theft/robbery/unauthorised use) causes permanent disability within one year, or death within one year. The disability percentage is set using Salva's disability table; the sum insured is stated on the policy per insured person.
Key conditions
Driver age and experience limit
The current terms do not set a fixed minimum age or driving-experience threshold for casco cover; the driver must simply hold a valid driving licence of the relevant category, a valid health certificate, and must not drive while ill, over-tired or under the influence of substances impairing safe driving. Salva's marketing materials additionally state that Salva does not apply an increased deductible for accidents caused by young drivers.
Repair network requirements
Repair takes place at a workshop chosen by mutual agreement between the client and Salva; if no agreement is reached, Salva designates the workshop. If the client wants to use a different workshop, Salva instead pays cash indemnity capped at the estimated cost of repair at Salva's nominated workshop (net of VAT, deductions and deductible). If manufacturer warranty applies, repair is based on warranty-shop restoration.
Territorial scope
Main cover applies within the territorial scope marked on the policy (Estonia; Green Card countries excluding Russia; or all Green Card countries). Separately, the Autoabi (roadside assistance) service is valid only in Estonia (excl. small islands) and in Europe excluding Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Turkey, regardless of the main policy's chosen scope.
Anti-theft requirements
Vehicle keys and other opening/starting devices must not be kept where third parties could access them; when unattended, they must be in a locked space. On leaving the vehicle, windows, sunroof and boot must be closed, the vehicle locked, and required security devices activated. In case of key theft or loss, the policyholder must notify Salva immediately in writing and re-code or replace locks/security system.
Claim notification deadline
The insured event must be reported to Salva (or its named partner) in writing/durable format no later than two working days after the event, or after the day the policyholder learned or should have learned of it, providing all known facts about the circumstances, location, extent of damage and parties involved.
Deductible rules
The deductible amount/percentage is set on the policy. A base deductible applies for accident, storm/hail/flood, fire/explosion and vandalism claims. For theft, robbery or unauthorised use (and resulting damage), the deductible is a policy-marked percentage of the insured value unless agreed otherwise; for theft of parts/accessories it is a policy-marked percentage of the loss amount, but not less than the base deductible. A doubled base deductible applies if repairs are carried out outside Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania (also for glass and animal-collision claims repaired abroad). No deductible applies to: animal/bird-collision claims repaired in Estonia/Latvia/Lithuania, travel interruption, loss of use, Autoabi, key/registration-document replacement costs, and health-injury claims.
