Section: 9. TRIP INTERRUPTION INSURANCE

The insured event of trip cancellation and trip disruption is an unexpected and unforeseeable event that prevents the insured person from going on the planned trip or forces them to interrupt the trip, if this was caused by the following circumstances:

Luggage and baggage coverage

Covers lost, delayed, or damaged luggage during travel with defined limits per item

The insured event of baggage insurance is the expenses related to the restoration or replacement of personal items taken on a trip if they are damaged, destroyed or stolen or taken in a robbery during the trip as a result of an unexpected and unforeseeable event.

High-risk activities optional coverage

Recreational winter and mountain sports such as skiing or snowboarding on marked, open slopes are included in Balcia's standard travel coverage; extreme sports and other high-risk activities require Balcia's separate Extreme insurance product rather than an add-on to travel insurance

Section: 2. INSURANCE TERRITORY

The insurance cover is valid in the territory specified in the insurance agreement (except for the territory specified in point 2.2), which is: 2.1.1. Europe, including the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Israel, Tunisia, Turkey; 2.1.2. worldwide, except the US, Canada, Australia; 2.1.3. worldwide.

Maximum trip duration

Individual trip length typically limited to 30, 60, 90 days or longer; annual multi-trip policies available

In the case of multiple travel insurance, the number of trips is not limited but the duration of a trip may be up to 90 days as of the starting date of each trip.

Age eligibility

Standard coverage typically for insureds under 85 years of age; may vary by specific policy variant

Pre-existing medical conditions

Conditions known or existing before policy purchase or trip start are excluded from coverage

Alcohol or drug intoxication exclusion

Losses incurred while under influence of alcohol or drugs are not covered

Selectable geographic coverage region

At policy purchase the customer selects a coverage region; for destinations like Georgia the "Europe" region must be chosen, and Balcia also offers worldwide coverage
