Turva Mutual Insurance Company
Turva
Turva is a motor casco insurance for the Finland market with online purchase and 24/7 assistance.
Direct payment
Turva has the right to designate the repair shop or supplier used for repairs; Turva does not act as the party commissioning the repair work and is not responsible for the quality of the work or parts used, and settles claims either by paying the actual invoiced repair costs or an agreed estimated amount directly.
Geographic scope
Europe and Green Card agreement countries
Valid throughout Europe and in non-EEA Green Card countries, but not in Russia, Belarus or Iran; yellow test-plate cover is valid only in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark; theft and fraud cover for driverless rental vehicles does not apply in a long list of Eastern European and other named countries.
Unique selling points
- A 10% no-claim discount on collision cover applies from day one, without the years-long build-up required by a traditional bonus system.

- Täyskasko is aimed at drivers who spend a lot of time on the road and specifically want glass-damage protection included.
- The extended replacement-car benefit is Liittokasko's standout feature, delivering a replacement vehicle in as little as an hour.
- A 24/7 emergency and claims hotline for vehicle damage provides around-the-clock assistance.
Coverage limits
Collision cover (Kolarointivakuutus)
Covered
Covers sudden and unforeseen physical damage to the insured vehicle caused by leaving the road, overturning, impact, collision, falling or similar sudden external cause. Compensation is capped at the vehicle's market value (käypä arvo), not a fixed sum.
Total loss / redemption settlement
Covered
If repair costs reach at least two-thirds of the vehicle's pre-loss market value, Turva may (but is not obliged to) redeem the vehicle at its market value. An optional enhanced Redemption benefit (Lunastusetu) can pay the cash price of an equivalent new vehicle or market value plus up to 30%.
Partial damage repair costs
Covered
Necessary and appropriate repair costs are covered. If worn or corroded parts are replaced with new ones and the vehicle's condition materially improves, only the portion of costs needed to restore the pre-loss condition is paid.
Theft insurance (Varkausvakuutus)
Covered
Covers loss of or damage to the vehicle from theft, joyriding, unauthorised use, or attempts thereof, provided the vehicle was locked or kept in a locked/guarded storage facility. The vehicle is treated as permanently lost only if it is not found within 30 days of Turva receiving the theft report and a police report has been filed.
Glass damage (Lasivakuutus)
Optional
Only in Liittokasko, Turvakasko
Covers windscreen, side or rear window breakage caused by a direct impact to the glass. No deductible applies if the glass is repaired rather than replaced. Marketed as a defining feature of the Täyskasko combination for drivers who want glass protection, while it is an optional addition to lighter combinations.
Natural phenomena cover (Luonnonilmiövakuutus)
Optional
Only in Liittokasko, Turvakasko, MP Turvakasko
Covers damage caused directly by a wind-felled tree or other object, hail on the vehicle's exterior surfaces, or rising water level while the vehicle is parked.
Vandalism (Ilkivaltavakuutus)
Covered
Covers damage intentionally caused to the vehicle by a third party, where the perpetrator's explicit intention was to damage the vehicle. A police report is required.
Towing and travel cost assistance (Autopalveluvakuutus)
Optional
Covers towing to the nearest suitable repair shop and reasonable additional travel/accommodation costs when a journey is interrupted by breakdown, accident, a flat tyre, or (for private cars) running out of fuel/charge in Finland; no deductible applies. Extra costs in Finland are capped at 400 EUR per event, abroad at 2,000 EUR, and truck/trailer towing at 3,500 EUR per event. Valid abroad only in the Liittokasko, Turvakasko, MP Turvakasko, Peruskasko and Kaikenvara combinations.
Replacement vehicle (Sijaisautovakuutus / Laaja sijaisautovakuutus)
Optional
Only in Liittokasko, Turvakasko, Peruskasko
Provides a rental replacement vehicle of a comparable class (max a C-segment estate car, or a van up to 9 m3 load space) while the insured vehicle is repaired following a covered loss. Maximum duration is 30 days for standard property-insurance claims, 14 days for most redemption cases, 30 days for theft-related redemption, and 8 days under the extended version for technical-fault-only claims. Rental is only available within Finland. Marketed as included by default in Liittokasko, where it is delivered in as little as an hour.
Driver / occupant personal injury
Excluded
Casco insurance explicitly does not compensate personal injuries; it only covers direct damage to property (the insured vehicle and its equipment).
Key conditions
Driver age and experience limit
The reviewed policy terms and IPID do not state a specific minimum driver age or driving-experience requirement for casco cover.
Repair network requirements
Turva has the right to designate the repair shop or supplier used for repairs; Turva does not act as the party commissioning the repair and is not responsible for the quality of the work performed or parts used.
Territorial scope
Valid throughout Europe and non-EEA Green Card countries except Russia, Belarus and Iran; yellow test-plate cover only in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark; replacement-car cover only in Finland; theft/fraud cover for driverless rental vehicles void in a long list of Eastern European and other named countries.
Anti-theft requirements
Theft cover applies only if the vehicle was locked or stored in a locked/guarded facility; keys, the registration certificate's notification section and electronic certificates must not be kept inside the vehicle or in an unlocked place where an outsider could expect to find them.
Claim notification deadline
Theft, vandalism, moose-collision and fraud losses must be reported to the police without delay. Compensation must in any case be sought from Turva within one year of learning of the event and the resulting loss, and no later than 10 years after the loss occurred.
Deductible rules
A claim-type-specific deductible stated in the policy schedule is deducted from each loss; if theft and vandalism occur in the same event, only the single highest applicable deductible is deducted; theft losses occurring in a list of Baltic/Eastern European and other named countries carry a deductible of 20% or 40% of the loss amount (subject to stated minimums); glass damage carries no deductible if the glass is repaired instead of replaced; the roadside-assistance (autopalvelu) cover has no deductible at all.
